Background:Sleep is a very fundamental need for every individual, especially for elderly people in social institutions. Poor quality of sleep in the elderly may lead to several disturbances, such as vulnerability to diseases,forgetfulness, psychomotor disorders, disorientation and difficulty to make decision. Some intervention may include pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of non-pharmacology therapies that isused to increase sleep qualityis rose aromatherapy. Objective: To determine the effect of rose aromatherapy on the quality of sleep in elderly at PSTW Budi Luhur Kasongan Bantul, Yogyakarta. Method: This study was a quasi-experiment research,with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples were taken with simple random sampling technique, involving 24 respondents. Each respondent was given rose aromatherapy for 5 minutes for 5 consecutive days. Result:Statistical analysis with marginal-homogeneity test showed p-value of 0,000 (p value<0,05).It suggested that there was a significant effect ofrose aromatherapy on the quality of sleep in elderly at Social Institution of Tresna Werdha Budi Luhur Kasongan Bantul, Yogyakarta. Conclusion:Roses aroma therapy has effect in improving sleep quality in the elderly at Social Institution of TresnaWerdha Budi LuhurKasonganBantul, Yogyakarta. Backgroud: Nowadays, bottled water has become the most substitute water for cooking drinking water. Although bottled water seemed attractive, it is crucial to assess its quality. Objective: This quantitative study aimed to determine the quality of the 5 brands of bottled water circulating in Yogyakarta, in terms of physical parameters (temperature, smell, taste, color, turbidity, and TDS electroconductivity) and chemical parameters of water (pH, the presence of Cl-ions, and the presence of metals such as Cr, Fe, Zn, Cd). Methods: The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument used to determine the quality of bottled water is the standard of drinking water quality standards. Result: The results showed that five samples of bottled water circulating in Yogyakarta, are all qualified bottled water both in terms of physical parameters (temperature, smell, taste, color, turbidity, electroconductivity, and TDS) and chemical parameters of water (pH , the presence of Cl-ions, and the presence of metals such as Cr, Fe, Zn, Cd). Background: Early mobilization is necessary in critically ill patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to prevent hypovolemia which endangers patient’s life. The role of nurses in early mobilization is important by providing explanations and motivating patients to achieve the purpose of healing. Guidance and intensive intervention from nurses can reduce the recurrence of disease. Objective: To investigate the level of knowledge and attitude of nurses on patients early mobilization in ICU of RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul. Method: A descriptive, cross sectional study, was applied on 20 nurses in ICU of RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul. Univariate data analysis was administered to characteristics of respondents, knowledge, attitudes, and cross-tabulations. Result: Most of nurses have good level of knowledge (70%), and on attitude domain, most nurses are being supportive (75%) in terms of early mobilization to patients. Nurses whose age are 22-35 years old (10%), male (10%), have been working for 1 month up to 5 years (10%), have background of 3 years diploma in nursing (10%) fall into poor knowledge category. Similar characteristics contribute to attitude domain where nurses whose age are 22-35 years old (25%), male (15%), have been working for 1 month up to 5 years (25%), have background of 3 years diploma in nursing (35%) are placed into unsupportive category. Conclusion: The level of knowledge of nurses on patients early mobilization is in good category where the attitude is in supportive category. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik demografi penanganan cedera olahraga. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan sampel sebanyak 69 mahasiswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan kuota sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Cedera olahraga paling sering adalah ankle sejumlah 37,1%. Penanganan pertama pada kram otot dilakukan pemijatan sebanyak 73,9%, memar dengan kompres dingin sebanyak 46,4%, strain dan sprain dengan pemijatan 52,2% dan 55,0%, dislokasi dengan immobilisasi sebanyak 47,8%.
Background: Nurses in charge of the Emergency Room are required to have more ability than nurses serving patients in other units. Emergency Room is an initial service in a hospital. One's leadership style will greatly affect the effectiveness of a leader. The selection of the right leadership style can lead to the achievement of individual or organizational goals. Objective: To know the various leadership style used by the head of room in improving the performance of nurses of Emergency Room RSUD in Special Region of Yogyakarta. Method: This research includes quantitative research type, using cross sectional approach. The population of this study was the head of the treatment room. Secondary data of nurse's performance is taken from nursing care which is written in medical record file of Emergency Room of RSUD in Special Region of Yogyakarta. Results: The performance of nurses at Emergency Room RSUD A in the good category was 100%. The performance of nurses at Emergency Room RSUD B in the enough category was 45%. The performance of nurses at Emergency Room C in good category was 80%. The performance of nurses at Emergency Room RSUD D in good category was 55%. The performance of nurses at RSUD E in the good category was 95%. The result of cross tabulation between leadership style and nurse performance of RSUD in the whole DIY with good performance is leader who use democratic leadership style equal to 35%. Conclusion: Most of the nurse's good performance in Emergency Room is followed by democratic leadership style of head of space. Keyword: Leadership style, head of space, performance of nurses
