Purpose
This paper aims to investigate the utilisation of both zakāh and waqf fund as external resources to ensure micro-takāful services are delivered to underserved communities in an effective and sustainable manner. It also addresses Sharīʿah issues related to the zakāh- and waqf-based model.
Design/methodology/approach
The study is a qualitative-based research. It uses both focus group and content analysis approach to gather primary data and identify and interpret relevant secondary data and Sharīʿah concepts in developing the zakāh- and waqf-based micro-takāful model.
Findings
It is discovered throughout the investigation of attributes of beneficiaries of zakāh and waqf institutions as well as micro-takāful scheme that all share commonalities in terms of social securities and socio-economic support to low-income households in societies. The study also finds that the disintegration of zakāh and waqf which form part of the Islamic ecosystem from the micro-takāful model makes it less effective and sustainable.
Originality/value
This study appears as a primitive attempt to discuss and develop a zakāh and waqf-based micro-takāful model with reference to Malaysian jurisdiction.
Purpose
The purpose of this research is to examine the factors that affect brand satisfaction of a Muslim customer who is making purchases from selling outlets on social media.
Design/methodology/approach
The study used a new mechanism of sampling for research studies relating to social media which. Further, we used hierarchical regression to analyze the moderation effects of religiosity.
Findings
The authors’ findings suggest that religiosity has moderation effects on the relationship between halal social media and brand satisfaction of a Muslim customer and even higher moderation effects on relationship between customer engagement and brand satisfaction of a Muslim customer.
Research limitations/implications
The respondents of this research are completely unknown as the data has been collected from google-docs link sharing arrangement.
Practical implications
This study identifies factors that need to be focused on winning the brand loyalty of a Muslim customer.
Originality/value
This study provides a new sampling methodology to be used for the purpose of studies related to social media, which has been labeled as “social-media disguised snow ball sampling”. Further, this study is one of the few studies in the area of “halal social media”.
Terumbu karang merupakan ekosistem yang produktif dan beranekaragam. Ekosistem terumbu karang memberi manfaat langsung kepada manusia dengan menyediakan makanan, obatobatan, bahan bangunan dan bahan lain. Terumbu karang menopang kelangsungan hidup ekosistem lain disekitarnya juga menjadi tumpuan hidup manusia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Perairan Tahua Kecamatan Tidore Utara Kota Tidore Kepulauan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase penutupan terumbu karang di Perairan Tahua Kecamatan Tidore Utara. Pengambilan data karang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode transek garis atau LIT (line intercept transec), dilakukan di tiga stasiun pengamatan dengan panjang transek 50 meter pada tiga kedalaman yaitu 3 meter, 6 meter dan 10 meter. Data hasil pengukuran karang kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan formulasi Cox. Persentase penutupan karang (percent cover) pada ketiga stasiun pengukuran termasuk dala kategori rusak, masing-masing dengan persentase penutupan stasiun I 21.86% (rusak), stasiun II 18.87% (rusak), sedangkan di stasiun III 27.21% (cukup).
