There is growing acceptability in redesigning jobs to achieve goals and objectives nowadays. Employees who indulge in exploiting and exploring opportunities for the business tend to craft their jobs, which can help to enhance business performance. This study aims to examine that how ambidextrous managers in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) craft their tasks as a strategy for open innovation to enhance business performance. This study also attempts to assess the moderating role of gender in evaluating the relationship. Simple random sampling is used to administer a structured questionnaire to 650 operations managers employed in service-sector SMEs. The findings reveal that, when male managers involve in explorative and exploitative activities, they tend to craft their jobs more as compared to females. In turn, when jobs are redesigned, it brings a positive impact on business performance as perceived by the managers. The study provides implications for the policy makers with regard to device measures to enhance the job crafting capacity of managers with specific attention to female managers in the case of small and medium enterprises. The present study provides a novel explanation of the relationship between manager ambidextrous behavior and business performance through the mediation of job crafting among top managers working in small and medium organizations, with an overarching view of gender.
Hospitality industry always looks for the exhibition of positive emotions from employees’ side and employees display it through suppressing negative emotions (surface acting) or expressing positive emotions (deep acting). The aim of this study is to examine the impact of emotional labor strategies on emotional exhaustion of employees through moderating effect of perceived organizational support. The study uses a sample of 190 employees of chain hotels situated in Lahore, Pakistan. Results concludes that hotels in hospitality sector should value the emotions of frontline employees to prevent them from getting emotionally exhausted, so they could serve the customers’ productively. Similarly, if organizations develop a mechanism and system that enhance the positive perception of organizational support among employees, it will decrease the adverse consequences of emotional labor. This research could be carried out in other service sectors like education, health, banking, airlines etc. where frontline employees matter a lot for organizational image.
Environmental issues are most important among the current global concerns, and business activities are seen as a cause of significant threat to the environment due to environmentally non-friendly practices by various industries that cause pollution. However, the implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM) practices in developing countries like Pakistan is still inconclusive. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of GSCM dimensions on economic, environmental, and social performance. The five dimensions covered in this research are green purchasing, green manufacturing and remanufacturing, environmental education, internal environmental management, and investment recovery. A survey questionnaire was prepared that consists of green practices as well as a performance indicator. Factor analysis maximum likelihood method was used to examine the survey data of Pakistani organizations. The results of this study indicate that GSCM practices have a positive impact on environmental, economic, and social performance. This research shows organizations are aware of improving their performance while adopting green supply chain practices.
The management and estimation of agile projects are challenging tasks for software companies due to their high failure rates. This paper emphasizes how to improve management and estimation challenges in the context of scrum, which is an agile process widely used for the development of small to medium size software projects. The scrum emphasis on code results in spending inadequate time on the estimation process. Mostly, the scrum master, along with the scrum team, estimates the upcoming software projects based on experience or historical data. Many issues can arise in a case where expert judgment is not available or historical data are not properly organized. In this paper, an Intelligent Recommender and Decision Support System (IRDSS) is proposed that can help the scrum master to better estimate an upcoming software project in terms of cost, time, and recommendations of human resources. Formal specification of IRDSS is also performed using the formalism known as Z language. Furthermore, an experiment on fifteen web projects was performed to validate the proposed approach and compared it with Delphi and Planning Poker estimation methods. The overall results indicate that the proposed system can produce better estimation than Planning Poker and Delphi methods by applying MMRE and PRED evaluation. This research opens new directions for the scrum community for the development of software projects within the allocated time and cost.

Due to poor pay and lack of access to paid sick days or proper healthcare, the majority of employees have little money saved up in case they choose to quit their stable jobs. Additionally, employees at meat and poultry slaughterhouses may get an infection via touching filthy workstations, dining room tables, or equipment, as well as from respiratory droplets in the air. Due to consumer behaviour changes brought on by the lockout, egg costs have climbed significantly. Over the next months, the COVID epidemic may have a significant influence on the world poultry trade as well. The impact of COVID-19 on chicken production, environmental sustainability, and earth systems will be the main emphasis of this study from many process angles.
