The improvisation in dialogue pronunciation will give significance based on the suitability of its application in teaching contexts. Copying, repetition, appreciation, action and reaction are the elements included in the techniques practised in acting. This study is fully dedicated to the implementation of dialogue pronunciation through improvisation technique which is often highlighted for the actors and actresses in acting. However, what goes unnoticed is the fact that the way a teacher delivers a lesson in a classroom has similarities in function and role as a stage performer. Voice is the main instrument which needs to be used during the whole lesson or performance. The problem statement in this study can be seen from the inability of the teacher to apply an effective dialogue projection technique in their lesson, causing a somber and gloomy classroom. Apart from that, understanding the teaching content alone is not enough if dialogue pronunciation is unclear throughout the lesson. Therefore, this study aims to give exposure on the techniques and introduction to voice mechanism so that the lesson can be delivered more effectively and interesting by the teachers. The process of this study leads towards qualitative form guided by observation and open interviews to review the current teaching methods as well as using suitable library and database references. The result of this study shows the importance of understanding the improvisation in dialogue pronunciation in teaching which can be implemented consciously in teaching and learning process in school.
In Kelantan, the traditional pattern that existed in the designing the costumes for 'Makyung' exhibits the combination of organic and geometric styles. This balances and reinforces every produced design. The use of aesthetical values in designing patterns with underlying decorations is directly created to mirror the activities within its social community through resources that reflect their customs and culture. Based on the displayed designs, we can learn one branch in JKKN's 'Makyung' performances in Kelantan. The research on the conservation of aesthetical values in designing traditional pattern for 'Makyung' costumes is a qualitative research, carried out descriptively through observing and analysing the performances, as well as interviewing the costume designer which entails the analysis of aesthetical and sociocultural values to explain the connection and role of the traditional designs in the costumes. The result of this study on the conservation of aesthetical values will be able to help the society to understand the development of ideas, creativity, aesthetical values, and meaning in every performance as well as the factors that support the process of designing traditional patterns for JKKN's 'Makyung' costumes in Kelantan based on its sociocultural system.
The writing of this social science concept paper is conducted to explore the elements acting method implementation a Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs) in education. Therefore, by researching the understanding of Secondary School Standard Curriculum (KSSM) in the implementation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs), and how teachers make critical transformations Incorporate into the teaching plan, and implement teaching through the curriculum. The research was intended to introduce the modification of the acting method as an alternative method or known as critical pedagogy to strengthening the student aspirations. In addition, the acting method in depth through the transformation approach of Theater Arts such as Constantine Stanislavky (1946), Bertolt Brecht (1956) and Augusto Boal (1978. The culture of education in Malaysia, which is still based on a teacher-centered pedagogical approach, raises the question of the extent to which Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTs) can be implemented more comprehensively by using the acting method in teacher pedagogical. This article discusses the critical pedagogy idea pioneered by Paulo Freire (1970) for creating the transformation of educational culture towards the curriculum. The design of this study is qualitative and case study strategy. The implication of this article is the need to transform the culture of teaching and learning to be more open, friendly, and not too formal as well as to celebrate the diversity of students' ideas through acting techniques. Teachers play an important role in determining the direction of teaching and forming creative, innovative, critical thinking, ethical and disciplined values. This study also provides some suggestions to improve the development of teacher professional identity and Develop guides and reference materials for professional theater and drama programs in education and culture as approaches of the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).
