The object of this study was a collection of short stories Nadira written by Leila S. Chudori. This research aims to describe (1) women's struggle, and (2) ideas of feminism in a collection of short stories Nadira by Leila S. Chudori. Theoritical studies used in this research are: (1) the definition of short stories and (2) fictional structure, consists of (a) intrinsic element, and (b) extrinsic elements, (3) fictional analysis approach, and (4) the essence of feminism. The study used feminist literary criticism. Based on the story of this collection of short stories, another study used theory of socialist feminism. Feminism refers to a thought or ideology that want justice and gender equality. Because of these ideals, then feminism is regarded as an ideology of women's liberation. While socialist feminism states the cause of oppression in women is capitalism and patriarchy. Feminism literary criticism means “reading as woman”. This feminism literary criticism analysis was conducted using feminism approach. This article aims to describe social problems in the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. The data in this study are words, phrases, clauses, or sentences that contain the discourse of social problems in the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. The source of the data in this study is the short-short story in a collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti. In this short story collection has 15 titles of short stories, but only 12 short story from which the data in this study. Data that has been entered into the tables collected inventory data to obtain summary data. The results showed that in a collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti indeed found the existence of problems that are contained on each short story that became a source of research. Aspects of social issues contained in a collection of short stories this is a form, causes, and the impact of social issues. Causes of social problems in the collection of short stories include the economical factors, biological, cultural, and bio-psychology, but not bio-psychology many factors were discovered. In a few short stories that became a source of research, there is a form of deviant behavior and social inequalities that clearly reflected the author's way of building character stories and figures according to the theme that many raised issues of life in the social community.Keywords: social problems, the collection of short Cemara by Hamsad Rangkuti

This research had a purpose to describe Social Structure and Function of Legend of Sampuraga Story. The theory used by researchers in this research was folklore theory. The type of this research is qualitative research with description method which is explaining facts explicitly obtained from research object. To be able to describe the Social Structure and Function of the Legend of Sampuraga, this research is done by analyzing the data as an object with the following steps. (1) to describe the Structure of Folklore Legend of Sampuraga. (2) to describe the socio-function of the folklore of the Samapuraga legend. Structures are elements that build a ceruta, there are elements that are (1) characterizations, (2) style of language, (3) events and plot, (4) point of view, (5) background, and (6) theme and mandate. Furthermore, social function is a form of community belief to folklore they have and become a separate function in their social life. The social functions are (1) as a means of entertainment, (2) as a means of education (3) a means of social control, (4) social solidarity inauguration, and (5) group identity. Based on data analysis conducted, it can be concluded that there are only 5 elements in the Structure of Folklore Legend because the point of view is not found in the folklore Legend Sampuraga. This study aimed to describe the structure and social function of folklore Pakubuean Tagak legend in Kampuang Tanjuang Malai V tribal district Batang Gasan Padang Pariaman. This study is a qualitative research with descriptive methods that describe the data contained in the object of research, the theory used, data analysis, and so on. To find out the structure and social function of the folklore of Pakubuean Tagak legend researchers conducted a study by interviewing several informants who knew the story. This research was located in Kampung Tanjuang, Batang Gasan District, Padang Pariaman District. This research was conducted in several stages: (1) recording stage then transcribed the data and transliterated the data. (2) classifying data based on the theory that has been determined. Based on the results of the study of folklore structure, The first is the structure of folklore Pakubuan Tagak legend contained in Kampuang Tanjuang Nagari Malai V Suku District Batang Gasan Padang Pariaman District. The second conclusion was that the folklore of the Pakubuan Tagak legend found in the Tanjuang Nagari Malai V Kampong, Batang Gasan Subdistrict, Padang Pariaman District has a social function as a means of entertaining and educatingKeywords: Social Function, Folklore, Legends
