Equally incumbent towards the completion of this thesis was Yayasan Mendaki in conferring me with the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (2016). The award marked a significant chapter in my life and serves as a constant reminder of my duty towards the society. Similarly, I would also like to thank my supervisor, Associate Professor Wong Chen-Hsi for her many insights and valuable critiques. Assistant Professor Dr. Kenneth Feinstein has also been instrumental, particularly in suggesting useful reads in the early stages of my studies. A heartfelt gratitude would also be extended to my beautiful wife, Nuraini binte Abdul Malik and son, Muhammad Arfan Junayd, as well as my parents and parents-in-law who were understanding towards my work and academic pursuit.
