This study focuses on the role of youth as an agency of sustainable waste management. Indonesia faces big problems in processing plastic waste. For this reason, the presence of students as an agent is very necessary. The research aims to determine the extent of planned behavior theory can influence students to participate in waste separation. This study applies the planned behavior theory. This theory has several items such as motivation, situational factors, attitude, environmental awareness, subjective norms, intention and behavior, perceived behavioral control, and moral obligation. These factors influence students to participate in sustainable waste management.
One of the prominent sectors of SMEs in Indonesia is woven fabric sector particularly Sengkang's Silk producer in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi. Sengkang's Silk has positioned itself as an iconic product that may serves as tourist attraction within the region. However, innovation in this sector is limited particularly in Sengkang's Silk. However, such advantage may not be sustainable in the long run. Our study analyses 219 questionnaire responds from Sengkang's Silk SMEs and analyze whether innovation combined with iconic product advantage can improve their marketing performance. Our result indicated that iconic product innovation affects marketing performance positively and significantly. Furthermore, our study found that organizational innovativeness variables can affect the development of iconic product innovation. Our study suggests that, Sengkang's Silk SMEs should focus on developing their organizational innovativeness through product innovativeness, market innovativeness, process innovativeness, behavior innovativeness and strategic innovativeness to improve their iconic product innovation strategy.
Women play an important role in supporting the environment economics, especially in supporting the independence of the area around the forest through entrepreneurial activities. This study aims to analyze the relationship between social conflict and natural resources, especially in forest areas, and identify the role of women in conflict resolution management through the use of natural resources. Since women have the skills and knowledge in processing natural products, it has been utilized as a strategy to minimize social conflicts. Social conflict closely related to natural resources due to dissatisfaction from the community. Conflicts in forestry areas will persist as long as differences in interests among stakeholders still exists. For this reason, the role of women in processing natural products becomes essential. Even though the activity is one of the informal sector activities, it can support the family economy if conducted optimally. This study found that the role of government was insufficient in supporting entrepreneurial activities in remote areas, especially in forest areas. Research data showed that there are still many village women who do not have skills in processing natural products. The condition is a result of the lack of collaboration between the government and the private sectors.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the extent of skills possessed by rural communities, especially women in conducting entrepreneurial activities. Therefore, the research team provided information on the importance of entrepreneurial activities and improving community skills in processing natural products through a three-day workshop. Participants who attended the workshop activities such as village officials, community leaders, and women who were directly involved in entrepreneurship activities. The article builds a model for ensuring food security through entrepreneurship activities. The research team assisted the village community in processing and utilizing natural products, especially bananas, pineapples, and black rice. During the mentoring activities, the village community, especially village women can make and process bananas, pineapple, and black rice into dodol. The research team also taught village women how to pack products and how to market these products. The results of this activity concluded that women who want to build villages in ensuring food security must have skills in processing natural products and have the initiative to become an entrepreneur. Women entrepreneurship activities support rural economic empowerment. Women and young women who participate continue to increase in entrepreneurship activities. Women entrepreneurship has a positive impact on the social and economic sectors of the family.
