Harmonics reduce power quality and increase inefficiency. Although light emitting diode (LED) bulb has been considered more efficient than previous bulb technologies; its internal circuits potentially generate additional problems. This paper has surveyed 6 LED bulb samples and measured the harmonics generated by the internal circuits. As a result. 7 Watt type B LED bulb produces the highest 3rd order harmonics current which is incompatible with IEC61000-3-2 Class C. A prototype of LC filter is designed to decrease the harmonic level. The measurement shows that the designed passive filter is able to reduce at least 81.3% of harmonics.
The Covid-19 pandemic is believed to be a turning point for changes in tourism and the design of creative economy business models, including in Indonesia. Through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the government prepares various policy directions and strategies in tourism promotion programs during the pandemic and post-pandemic in Indonesia. Sidamanik District is one of the sub-districts in the Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province, which has considerable natural potential, namely natural potential in the form of landscapes such as the Bah Butong Sidamanik tea garden, Bah Manik baths, and Bah Biak Waterfall. Bah Biak Waterfall has its uniqueness. Bah Biak Waterfall has a height of approximately 20 meters which immediately falls into the rocks and a swimming pool provided by the manager. The current condition experienced is the lack of visitors who come to tourist objects due to the lack of marketing and information disseminated to the broader community, especially during a pandemic like today. Along with technological advances, the development of promotional media began to shift to digital media, one of which was video. Therefore, through community service, which is one of the tri dharma of higher education and to support Strategy 7 of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy: Utilization of technology to support tourism marketing and the creative economy, our service team proposes making tourism promotion videos through video/ Digital Marketing of Bah Biak Tourism Object in Bah Biak Village, Sidamanik District. Through this video, we hope to positively impact tourist destinations, including a significant increase in the tourism sector.
The use of solar energy as a source of electrical power is done by utilizing solar panels. Even though the sun has two sources of energy: light energy and heat energy, however, up to now, the heat energy generated by the sun is not yet fully utilized. This study was aimed to develop floating -on water- power plant where the temperature difference that occurs in thermoelectric generator can increase the optimal output voltage on solar panels. The thermoelectric hot side is patched under the solar panel, and the cold side is patched on the surface of the water level. This study showed that the highest voltage results on the connected series are 3±1 volts with thermoelectric generator connected 60 series. The power generated by the thermoelectric generator is 3-7mW with a temperature difference of 14.5°C. Thermoelectric efficiency of the floating generators was 84.4%. The electrical power generated by the thermoelectric generator was stored in a 3V 2000 mAh electric battery. This energy is sufficient to light up the lamps and to charge the mobile phone for daily use.
