The study examined the common parental style and its influence on children’s aggressive behavior and academic achievements among Pakistani Children. One hundred and twenty parents (44 father and 76 mothers) and their preteen and teenaged children (46 boys and 84 girls) aged between 9 and 19 years were randomly selected from Karachi, Pakistan. Pakistani families in UAE, Ireland, and United Kingdom were randomly selected and included in studies. Academic achievements of children were found by demographic information. Parents filled in section A of the questionnaires, which measured parental styles in terms of their beliefs and practices and classified them into permissive, autocratic, and active parents. Children of the same parents filled section B of the same questionnaire to measure children’s antisocial behavior and aggression. Commonly found parenting style is authoritative and parenting practices are free of parents’ gender. Direct relation of autocratic parenting styles on increased level of aggression and diminution of academic achievement of child is found through regression analysis. Independent sample t test and one-way analysis of variance revealed similar trends in the development of aggression among girls and boys of different age groups. Similarly, academic achievements and aggression of children are found independent of each other. The impact of parent’s gender, qualification, and professionalism on parenting was also explored in the current study. Parent’s gender and educational achievements have no impact on parenting practices; however, profession of parent has influence on adoption of parenting practices in case of autocratic parenting style and further needs to be explored. Further research to surface other factors contributing to the development of aggression among juveniles is recommended.
CPEC is one of the most important topics for research in social science today due to its dominance and prominence in regional studies. There is a heap of research inventory in this area of interest. Although most of the prior studies highlighted opportunities, threats and obstacles associated with CPEC, none of these indicated the potential threats that CPEC imposes on India. Therefore, this study has major importance in the literature as it is associated with the issues which the corridor might create for India. Although there are no prior studies in this regard, there is some evidence regarding the impact of CPEC on India, as no study is complete without addressing negative consequences of CPEC for India. Therefore, researchers bring all these stances together in order to formulate proper framework to address potential threats of CPEC for India. This is highlighted majorly through the support of public opinion and also through associating possible negative impacts of CPEC (on India) with secondary data. The study uses quantitative approach therefore for analysis of public opinion SMART PLS-SEM has been incorporated and results highlighted that youth believes that CPEC is able to produce several threats to India. Although the legal chasm of Gilgit & Biltistan might diminish the extent of these threats.
In advertising, Augmented Reality (AR) is considered to be the latest smart innovation used for advertising and marketing different products and services. By the use of this technology, the brands and the companies engage in interaction with the target audience to retrieve the expectations of the existing and potential users. However, significant factors are associated with the adoption of AR technology. This study aims to find the effect of augmented reality advertising on purchase intention. For this purpose, the study focused on various factors including informativeness, entertainment, credibility and irritation which lead to the purchase intention. For the study design, the researcher has used an experimental research strategy. The respondents were shown augmented reality based advertisements to learn about their experiences. The outcomes obtained from this research revealed that augmented reality based advertisements are very informative and entertaining as compared to other mediums. All the factors examined in the study have a significant impact on purchase intention. This is, therefore, concluded that marketers must consider the use of AR in their advisements, which is easy to use and entertaining and does not irritate the customers. This research has also demonstrated that AR technology is one of the best approaches which can be used for creating interactive experiences with customers, and provide them with effective services and products.
A breach in information security (infosec) can materially impact a firm’s long-term competitiveness. For publicly listed firms, an infosec breach can have a long-lasting effect on their competitive stock performance, including their equity risk. Despite its significance, past research has focused primarily on examining the short-term effect of infosec breaches while ignoring its long-term effect on the firm’s equity risk. Therefore, in this research, we examined the long-run effect of 276 infosec breaches at publicly traded firms on equity risk from 2009 to 2018. We analyzed each firm’s equity risk compared to its competitive control firms of similar sizes and performances for three years, from one year before to two years after the breach, using a one-to-one matching methodology. The univariate analysis of infosec breaches on equity risk indicated that breach firms have a 7% higher equity risk than competitive control firms. Additionally, the quantile regression analysis of the effect of infosec breach factors on long-run equity risk showed that the rise in equity risk is higher if the breach involves the compromise of confidential information and is a repeat breach for the same firm. The findings provide a valuable resource for investors, managers, and researchers interested in understanding the long-term relationship between infosec breaches and a firm’s stock competitiveness.
