Workplace spirituality is recognised as the inner state of individuals and an aspect of their working life. In the study reported on here we aimed to unearth the effects of teachers’ demographic factors (gender, age, nature of job, academic qualification, marital status, designation, teaching experience, and district) towards workplace spirituality in secondary schools. This study was a descriptive research and a cross-sectional survey research design was applied. The participants were 3,050 secondary school teachers. The participants were selected using stratified proportionate random sampling. The Workplace Spirituality Scale (WPS) developed by Petchsawang and Duchon (2009) was used along with a list of demographic variables to meet the study objectives. Different statistical techniques (t-test, mean, SD, one-way ANOVA and post hoc analysis) were applied for data analysis. The results indicate that teachers were satisfied and agreed with the practices of workplace spirituality in secondary schools. Moreover, the results reveal that the teachers’ demographic factors (gender, designation, nature of job, academic qualification, marital status, teaching experience, and district) had significant effects on their workplace spirituality. From the results we recommend that the management of educational institutions should treat teachers equally and fairly without any discrimination for equal nurturing of workplace spirituality among teachers.
Decorous exploitation of reporting verbs is a fundamental component of academic writing. It facilitates in constructing authors’ assertions as well as situating those assertions with the previously published literature in the field (Bloch, 2010). This study has been carried out to examine the phenomena of reporting verbs in the research articles of Education and English written by Pakistani and native speakers of English. A corpus-based approach has been adopted in this study. The corpus of the study comprises of 152 research articles, authored by native and Pakistani researchers in the fields of Education and English. The findings of the study exhibited dissimilarities in the ways the authors accredit the other sources in their work and demonstrate the reported statements in Pakistani and native corpora. This study will assist the research scholars to enhance their awareness regarding an appropriate selection of reporting verbs in their academic writings.
Fairness is essential factor that increase the workplace spirituality of teachers at workplace. This study is aim to exploration of distributive and interactional justice as predictors of workplace spirituality of school teachers in Pakistani context. This study was a quantitative research and causal-comparative research design was applied. The respondents of this study were 760 (405 male and 355 female) teachers of schools. According to purpose of this study and review of related literature distributive justice and interactional justice scales and Workplace Spirituality Scale (WPS) were used for data collection. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 version software and descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis techniques were applied. The results indicated that distributive and interactional justice were positive and significant predictors of workplace spirituality of teachers. Moreover, interactional justice was a higher predictor of workplace spirituality then distributive justice in Pakistani context. It was recommended that the administration of schools improve the practices of interactional and distributive justice among teachers because these were the positive and significant predictors of workplace spirituality among teachers.
