Unprecedented self-assembled hierarchical nano-sheets of SnS were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. In a typical reaction, SnCl 2 .2H 2 O and Na 2 S.9H 2 O were used as reactants. Structural and morphological properties were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) while the electrochemical properties were measured by cyclic voltammetry, charge-discharge cycles, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). SEM results showed the 1-D SnS nano-sheets with an average thickness of around 20 nm. Cyclic voltammogram and charge-discharge spectra showed good cycling stability. All these results showed that SnS nano-sheets are promising candidate material to be used as electrode for Li-S batteries.
The effect of annealing temperatures on the surface morphology and optical properties of titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) thin films deposited by spin coating on Silicon substrate was studied. The TiO 2 thin films deposited onto silicon substrates were annealed at different temperatures. The structural and optical properties were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction technique (XRD) and optical ellipsometer. The results indicated that the structural properties of the TiO 2 thin films were changed with the increase in annealing temperature. The SEM investigation showed that as annealing temperature was increased, the grain and pores size were increased. The XRD patterns of the studied samples showed that rutile phase were found in a sample annealed at high temperature. The ellipsometry investigation shows that the refractive index increased while energy band gap decreased with the annealing temperature. The results showed that surface porosity, optical properties and surface morphology of TiO 2 could be affected by changing the annealing temperature.
Magnetite nanoparticles have been prepared by using sol-gel auto combustion technique. The samples are prepared by using different concentrations of fuel. Structural characterization has been done using X-Ray diffraction technique and it was observed that fuel concentration can affect the structural properties of Magnetite nanoparticles. The dielectric properties for all the samples such as dielectric constant (ɛ ′), dielectric tangent loss (tan δ) and dielectric loss factor (ɛ ″) have been studied as a function of frequency and temperature in the range 10 Hz-20 MHz and it was found that these nanoparticles can be used in microwave devices because of their good dielectric behavior.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
