As a growing trend in the world, internet-based research has become vital in one's daily life. The internet use by students has increased dramatically in recent years and also surfing the internet has become an important part of general student life. Furthermore, information technologies (IT) have greatly expanded into the field of education in last two decades. The aim of this research is to summarize the internet usage patterns of undergraduate students and to show in what density students utilize from internet sources for educational purposes. In accordance with this aim, we examined and reported their internet usage patterns and main purposes of using IT with a field survey. As a result of this research, it was aimed to state a general profile of the students reflecting their practices towards internet usage. At the same time, this study reveals that using information technologies make students not just to consume technology but also lead them to produce it. Shortly, spending long hours during online might be helpful for young to make some contributions to their knowledge about information technologies and unlike some people's prejudices, surfing internet is not totally waste of time for students but more or less a productive facility.
It can be stated that for the last quarter century, foreign capital banks have become the essential actors of the global financial markets. Especially, in developing countries, the share of foreign capital banks has reached more than half of the banking sector. Similarly in Turkish economy, foreign capital inflow has increased sharply especially for the last two decades and the ownership status of most of the national private banks has changed by mergers and acquisitions. In addition to that, there is also an increase in the number of new foreign banks which were established and started to operate via getting license from Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for the last ten years. The aim of this study is to search the effects of foreign capital inflow into Turkish banking sector after 1980s. For this reason in the first place, a general information has bee given about the economic policies and the change in the financial system in Turkey since 1980. Following liberalization policies, intensive foreign capital inflows to the country and its effects on the system and the course of the transformation of the banking sector in the last decades have been evaluated. Also, a variety of performance measurements have been examined during this study. State-owned commercial banks, privately-owned commercial banks and the banks owned by foreign capital have been taken in the scope of this study and the selected ratios/indicators of the relevant banks have been compared with the sector averages. The observations and comparisons have been made mainly on a period of last ten years, between 2009-2019. While the reasons that attract multinational companies and foreign capital banks to the Turkish economy and the financial effects of the increase in the number of foreign capital banks in the sector are discussed, the performances of foreign banks are examined by comparing them with the performances of other public and private banks.
In this study which aims to analyse the current situation of women employment in Turkey and its future perspective in the context of measurement of development index, an evalution of Turkey’s position at the range of global gender inequality and improvement policies considering future have been discussed. For this purpose in the context of development index based on gender, some important parameters such as wage differentials according to gender, employment participation rate according to gender, rate of women professionals at managerial position and income distributions according to gender were tried to be measured by means of basic indicators such as rate of literacy, rate of people getting higher education, representation rate at parliaments according to gender and life expectancy.
The aim of this study is to realize the issue of foreign aid disbursements as practiced in Afghanistan by using objective perspective to specify the effects of foreign aid on economic growth. This research study will recognize the impacts of foreign aid disbursements on economic development as affected by the political and strategic considerations and also by corruption levels which could have significance to future foreign aid programs in developing and post-conflict countries similar to Afghanistan. This research uses secondary data and both qualitative and quantitative methods which is conducted by collecting information from books and articles also collecting socio-economic statistics from reports and surveys to analyse the conditions in Afghanistan. The study examines both advantages and disadvantages of foreign aid on economic development using theory, as well as empirical analysis of transnational countries. The results indicate that foreign aid programs alone are not sufficient and efficacious for the economic growth of post-conflict states like Afghanistan. However, after two decades of foreign aid inflows to Afghanistan, the socio-economic conditions has not been improved, in order to make contribution to development process of poor countries, the potential advantages assists as providing resources to improve infrastructure, agriculture, education and transfer of technology. The GDP growth of Afghanistan has been declined, level of corruption has been increased, poverty rate has been risen and unemployment has been increased in this period. The intended conclusion is to provide recommendations to make foreign aid programs in Afghanistan useful and beneficial to its economic development.
