Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer and the third cause of cancer death in women. Radiotherapy occupies a prominent place in the therapeutic arsenal of cervical cancer in localized stages. Radiation induced secondary cancer is an entity that has been well described in the literature. We report a case of a rectal adenocarcinoma occurring in a woman previously treated by radiotherapy and brachytherapy for a squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.
Background: Metastatic germ cell tumors particularly in the bone are rare entities. They occur in young men and classified in the group of poor prognosis. Bone metastases are responsible for a significant functional handicap and a deep alteration in the quality of life of young patients. Metastatic germ cell tumors are rare entities with a high cure rate due to their extreme chemosensitivity. To our knowledge, epidural metastasis of this tumor has not yet been reported in the English medical literature. Tumors of the breast, lung and prostate are the most notorious for metastasizing in the epidural-spinal space.Case Description: We report a clinical case of spinal cord compression secondary to metastasis in the spinal epidural space of a testicular germ cell tumor in a 23-year-old. Patient whose evolution was marked by a decrease in tumor markers and a clear clinical improvement with disappearance of lower back pain and horsetail syndrome after starting the treatment with decompressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy based on bleomycin cisplatin and etoposide. Conclusions: Through this, we want to emphasize that an epidural metastasis of this tumor is possible, and that it must be part of the diagnoses to be evoked in the face of metastatic spinal cord compression, which potentially allows to avoid a significant functional handicap and a profound alteration in the quality life of young patients.
Vitiligo has been reported in 2% to 8.3% of patients followed for melanoma. Other studies have reported the rarity of this event, especially in patients followed for other metastatic cancers.
We report a rare case of vitiligo which occurred in a 67-year-old patient followed for metastatic bronchopulmonary cancer treated with immunotherapy such as Pembrolizumab.
Vitiligo occurring with the use of pembrolizumab in bronchopulmonary cancer has been exceptionally reported in the literature.
Immunotherapy in bronchopulmonary cancer is associated with many side effects, vitiligo is very rare in this context and can have an impact on the quality of life of patients.
Introduction: The acute pancreatitis (PA) during pregnancy is rare conditions, the clinical signs of which are not specific and may be related to the pregnancy itself and cause a delayed diagnosis. Material And Method: Our study is a 6-month comparative study of 24 patients, 18 with severe vomiting during pregnancy without pancreatitis (VS) and 6 with severe vomiting during pregnancy associated with (PA). The aim of our work was to determine the percentage of acute pancreatitis among patients with severe vomiting during pregnancy and to identify the signs pointing more towards this pathology. Results: Twenty five percent of patients with severe vomiting had PA. In the 66.67% PA group were nulliparous. Abdominal pain was present in 83% of PA cases and in 55.46% cases of VS. Metabolic alkalosis was present in 60% of cases in the PA group and 31% in the VS group. Ultrasonography showed biliary origin in 66.67% of PA and in 16.67 of VS cases. There were no deaths in the 2 groups. Conclusion: Given the high percentage of pancreatic origin in our study (25%), we should always mention PA in pregnant women with severe vomiting.
