Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic with poor solubility and permeability. The aim was to compared between Dry Grinding (DG) and Liquid-Assisted Grinding (LAG) methods to formed cocrystal of cefixime with nicotinamide. Cocrystal was prepared in 1:1 molar ratio and was characterizated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), fourier transform infra-red (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. Cocrystal properties such as solubility, dissolution rate, and permeation rate were evaluated. The solubility test results obtained: 0.420 ± 0.016 (cefixime); 0.675 ± 0.016 (cocrystal 1:1 LAG); and 0.632 ± 0.016 (cocrystal 1:1 DG). The dissolution test results obtained: 186.55 ± 4.18 (cefixime); 232.83 ± 4.07 (cocrystal 1:1 LAG); and 228.82 ± 10.07 (cocrystal 1:1 DG). The permeability test results obtained: 153.58 ± 31.94 (cefixime); 306.22 ± 77.81 (cocrystal 1:1 LAG); and 211.44 ± 22.90 (cocrystal 1:1 DG). Cefixime can be formed into cocrystal with nicotinamide by DG and LAG methods according to the results of characterization using DSC, FTIR, SEM, and XRD accompanied by the increasing solubility, dissolution, and permeability. Cocrystal 1:1 LAG showed better result compared to cocrystal 1:1 DG.
Zooplankton has an important role in waters, especially in the food chain, these organisms are consumers I which play a major role in bridging energy transfer from major producers (phytoplankton) to living things at higher trophic levels (fish and shrimp). This study aims to analyze the relationship between zooplankton abundance with phytoplankton and physicochemical parameters in the waters of Kastela, Ternate. The research was conducted from March to April 2017 in the waters of Kastela Ternate City North Maluku Province at 5 stations and 4 periods of sampling. Zooplankton samples were taken by filtering methods. The results showed that there were 20 zooplankton genera from 5 (five) classes namely Ciliate (4 genera), Crustaceae (8 genera), Hydrozoa (3 genera), Rotifera (3 genera), and Urocohordata (2 genera). Zooplankton abundance ranges from 1032 to 10942 cells.l-1, the highest at station 3 periods II (10942 cells.l-1), and the lowest at station 4 period I (1032 cells l-1). The range of values of the zooplankton biological indices is diversity index (0.5005 - 1.8662), uniformity index (0.6521 - 0.9601), and dominance index (0.1661 - 0, 6800). There was a low correlation between zooplankton abundance and phytoplankton abundance and physical-chemical parameters of water in Kastela waters, with determination coefficient is 0.236 and regression equation Y = 35079.107 + 0.030 phytoplankton - 791,251 temperature + 75,417 salinity - 1658,557 pH Keywords: mangroves, macrozoobenthics, organic matter
Minaluli Village has the availability of mangrove ecosystem resources in coastal areas. The availability of evenly distributed mangrove ecosystems can have a direct impact on the community. Determination of mangrove status conducted previously using conventional methods such as transect quandrat and spot check. Hemispherical photography method is one of the new methods used and developed in Indonesia. The study was conducted in July 2018 in Minaluli Village, North Mangoli District, Sula Islands Regency. North Maluku Province. The research objective is to obtain information on the condition of the mangrove ecosystem using the Hemispherical photography method. The results of the study obtained measurements of environmental parameters showed that environmental ecological conditions support the existence of mangroves. Morphological identification was obtained as many as 8 species from 3 families. Station I found 82% mangrove cover presentation value, for station II found 77% cover presentation, at station III found a presentation found 78% while at station IV found a presentation of mangrove cover 72%. The total presentation of mangrove cover obtained in the solid category, based on the standard criteria for mangrove damage. The density of the mangrove ecosystem obtained shows high density at each station. Based on the standard criteria for damage, the density of mangroves in this location is in the medium to very dense category with a value range between 1,067-2,022 trees / ha. Important value index (INP) analysis of each type of mangrove found a range of values between 31.73-95.55 The highest value index of the highest species was found in the Rhizophora stylosa type with a value of 95.55% then Rhizophora apiculata with a value of 95.08%, Rhizophora mucronata namely 81.05%, Xylocarpus granatum is 45.68, Ceriops stagal with value of 40.83%, Sonneratia alba with a value of 36.27 and Bruguiera gymnorhiza 31.73%.
Zooplankton berperan penting dalam rantai makanan, organisme ini merupakan penyedia energi tingkat kedua yang menjadi penghubung dalam transfer energi dari produsen utama ke makhluk hidup pada tingkat trofik yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dinamika zooplankton di perairan Kastela Ternate, Maluku Utara. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli hingga Agustus 2022 di perairan Kastela Kota Ternate Provinsi Maluku Utara, pada 5 stasiun dan 4 periode pengambilan sampel. Sampel zooplankton diambil dengan metode penyaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 22 genera zooplankton dari 6 (enam) kelas yaitu Ciliata (5 genera), Crustaceae (6 genera), Hydrozoa (4 genera), Rotifera (3 genera), Sarcodina (2 genera), dan Urocohordata (2 genera). Kelimpahan zooplankton berkisar dari 1032 - 9910 ind/L, tertinggi di stasiun 3 periode II (9910 ind/L) dan terendah di stasiun 2 periode III (1032 ind/L). Kisaran nilai indeks-indeks biologi zooplankton adalah indeks keanekaragaman (H') = 0,9503 - 2,0855, indeks keseragaman (E) = 0,5912 - 0,9751, dan indeks dominansi (D) = 0,1467 - 0,4988.
Stik merupakan salah satu produk olahan dari ikan yang sangat digemari oleh anak maupun orang dewasa. Jenis makanan ini berupa makanan ringan yang dikonsumsi diantara waktu makan utama. Stik berupa irisan tipis yang berbentuk pipih panjang berbahan dasar tepung terigu, tepung tapioka, telur dan air yang digoreng dan mempunyai rasa gurih dan bertekstur renyah. Bahan ikan yang ditambahkan dalam produk stik dimaksudkan untuk menambah nilai gizi bagi camilan stik. Diversifikasi olahan ini dapat dilakukan oleh kelompok usaha maupun secara mandiri untuk meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Stik merupakan cemilan yang rasanya enak dan mudah dibawa kemana-mana. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan keterampilan pembuatan cemilan yang mengandung nilai gizi kepada masyarakat khususnya bagi wanita yang tergabung dalam UMKM Mekar Jaya Tobter di wilayah kepulauan Ternate. Dan selanjutnya dapat dijadikan penghasilan tambahan keluarga jika diproduksi dalam skala besar. Target luaran yang dihasilkan adalah: Mitra dapat mengolah stik dari ikan teri, meningkatnya pemahaman mitra dalam mengolah ikan teri menjadi stik, mitra bertambah keterampilan dan mampu menghasilkan produk stik dalam skala besar. Kegiatan dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2022 dalam bentuk demonstrasi. Proses kegiatan demonstrasi dicontohkan kepada anggota kelompok dan anggota kelompok juga dilibatkan dalam proses kegiatan. Stik yang dibuat dalam kegiatan PKM ini berasal dari ikan teri yang merupakan ikan hasil tangkapan bagan yang banyak ditemukan di Kota Ternate. Bahan baku yang dibutuhkan tersedia cukup banyak di pasaran sehingga usaha stik ini dapat dilakukan dalam skala besar.Peningkatan keterampilan melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini sangat dibutuhkan sehingga dapat meniningkatkan nilai tambah anggota kelompok.
