This article discusses the concept of a secure system. On the example of the «Swiss cheese» model, the central principles of a safe system. A comparative analysis of the traditional approach to road safety and the safe system is carried out. As a result of the analysis, the advantages of a safe system that can significantly reduce the level of accidents on the roads are identified.
