-011Crystal Structure of Strontium Perrhenate Sesquihydrate Sr(ReO4)2. times.1.5 H2O. -Single crystals of the title compound prepared at room temp. from SrCO3 and an aqueous solution of HReO4, belong to the monoclinic system (space group P21/n, Z = 8) as shown by XRD. The structure which is closely related to those of Ca(ReO4)2·2 H2O and La(ReO4)3. times.4 H2O consists of zig-zag chains along (100) built-up from SrO9 polyhedra and ReO4 tetrahedra linked by sharing common corners. Additional stabilization results from contacts of the bridging ReO4 tetrahedra of one layer with the Sr atoms of the layers below and above. The water molecules belonging exclusively to the coordination sphere of the Sr atoms are positioned in tunnel-like spaces along tridentate screw axes.-(VARFOLOMEEV, M. B.; SAMARJ, N.
