The relative activities of four prostaglandins (PGE1, PGA1, PGE2 and PGA2) were determined in several biological tests. They were compared as intestinal muscle stimulants on rabbit duodenum and guinea‐pig ileum, as inhibitors of adrenaline‐induced lipolysis in rat isolated epididymal fat, inhibitors of platelet aggregation in rabbit plasma, as vasodepressor agents in anaesthetized rats and dogs, and on both blood pressure and cardiac output in unanaesthetized dogs. Formation of PGAs by dehydration and introduction of one additional double bond virtually abolished activity in all of these systems except the cardiovascular system. PGE2 was more active than PGE1 on isolated rabbit duodenum and as an antilipolytic agent, but less active in the other systems. Only PGE1 had high potency as an inhibitor of platelet aggregation.
Todays communication world ensures that anybody can communicate to anyone anywhere
anytime across the globe. The new mobile communication systems include not only voice but also data
and video messages. Natural way to communicate is to send and receive messages. Multimedia
messaging are essential drivers for continuous growth in new services beyond voice. In this study,
multimedia messaging services available in the video cell phones are used for constructing a prototype
video surveillance system. In this study, such a system is desired to monitor an area continuously and
to capture the hazardous momentary event and to send this video image to the user as an MMS or as an
email immediately. Since the SMS can only give the message but not the image, MMS and email
messaging systems are chosen in this work. Extensive simulation and experiments were carried out and
it is found that MMS can be applied for video surveillance system
Fabrication of conventional complete dentures was one of the most commonly advised treatment options to mange edentulous patients since many years. One of the commonly encountered challenging tasks in prosthodontics is a clinical situation in which patients have maxillary completely edentulous arches opposing mandibular natural dentition. This situation can be effectively managed by retaining some of the natural teeth as overdenture abutments. Tooth supported overdenture retained by attachments will improve retention, support and stability, and reduces rate of ridge resorption along with psychological benefits to the patients by providing tactile sensation. The present case report describes management of patients with edentulous maxillary arch opposing natural mandibular dentition-rehabilitated attachment-retained mesh-reinforced overdenture.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
