Chemical kinetic considerations are applicable to separation processes for quantitatively analyzing components in unresolvable mixtures. Distillation, diffusion, and dialysis were used. Analysis by this approach is simple and appears to be widely applicable to two-component systems.Three-component systems were successfully analyzed using dialysis.Components may be quantitatively determined in mixtures by application of chemical kinetic principles and equations to physical separation processes such as distillation, diffusion, and dialysis. In these cases, separation
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
