The spectra of self-activated and activator luminescence of zinc selenide are investigated. I t is found that the broad glow bands of ZnSe in the wavelength range above 500 nm are not elementary. The complex spectra are decomposed to their components by applying the Alentsev-Fok method. I n connection with this the problem of the structure of the glow centres is solved for each of the separated components. A conclusion is made about the mechanisms of radiative recombination in zinc selenide single crystals self-activated and activated with copper, silver, and gold based on the results obtained by investigation of luminescence, photocurrent, and optical absorption spectra.Die Spektren der selbstaktivierten und der Aktivator-Lumineszenz von Zinkselenid werden untersucht. Es wird gefunden, daD die breiten Glowbanden von ZnSe im Wellenlangenbereich oberhalb 500 nm nicht elementar sind. Die komplexen Spektren werden mittels der Methode von Alentsev-Fok in ihre Komponenten zerlegt. Gleichzeitig wird das Problem der Struktur der Glowzentren f u r jede der separierten Komponenten gelost.
