Smart city and smart tourism terms have become very popular in the past and present decades. Research in the field of smart tourist city still fails to cover the developments of the smart tourist city. The aim of the study is to review the recent literature on smart cities and smart tourism and their role in achieving a sustainable tourism sector and enhancing the competitiveness of the country’s tourism sector and make it more developed and modern. In this study, the relationship between the smart city and the tourism is presented and to present the relationship or conceptual approach between the smart city and the smart tourism. In addition, the current situation and the potential for growth and development of tourism in Iraq through the establishment and application of smart cities is identified. The recent studies that were mentioned in this study indicate that there is a close relationship between the smart city and smart tourism and also indicate that the smart city has a fundamental role in the growth and development of tourist destinations and the smart tourist city are results of the convergence and interconnection between the smart city and the tourist city. Finally, recommendations for the smart tourism city applications in Iraq are provided. Doi: 10.28991/HIJ-2020-01-04-07 Full Text: PDF
Water is one of the most important requirements in daily life, which represents the largest part of the Earth. As a result of the economic, industrial and social development in most countries led to increased pollution in water resources. It is, therefore, necessary to monitor water quality continuously to prevent a future catastrophe that adversely affects the quality and quantity of water wealth. Geographic Information System (GIS) is used in various fields to monitor, analyze data collected from different geographical locations. Integration of GIS and other technologies has become an indispensable tool. This gives us direct control over solution expansion, cost reduction, powerful complex case analysis as well as increased accuracy and efficiency of geospatial data. In recent years, many combinations of GIS with different technologies such as remote sensing, wireless sensor networks, internet of things approaches have been proposed due to the rapid progress of technology development in many applications. However, in last several years, there is no survey paper has been published about water quality using the integration of GIS and other technologies. Therefore, this paper investigates the status of continuous search in the field of GIS and its integration with other technologies (Remote Sensing, Internet of Things, Web, etc.) for water quality management and monitoring to maintain the water resources in a proper way. As conclusions, the integration of the GIS with these technologies is a powerful platform for analyzing and processing big data and mapping geographic remotely in less time, less cost, high speed and with more accurate details and in real time compared to traditional geographic information systems. This paper also highlights future research trends about the cooperation of GIS with other technologies for matters that are related to water quality. Doi: 10.28991/HIJ-2021-02-03-10 Full Text: PDF
Combining multi-model images of the same scene that have different focus distances can produce clearer and sharper images with a larger depth of field. Most available image fusion algorithms are superior in results. However, they did not take into account the focus of the image. In this paper a fusion method is proposed to increase the focus of the fused image and to achieve highest quality image using the suggested focusing filter and Dual Tree-Complex Wavelet Transform. The focusing filter consist of a combination of two filters, which are Wiener filter and a sharpening filter. This filter is used before the fusion operation using Dual Tree-Complex Wavelet Transform. The common fusion rules, which are the average-fusion rule and maximum-fusion rule, were used to obtain the fused image. In the experiment, using the focus operators, the performance of the proposed fusion algorithm was compared with the existing algorithms. The results showed that the proposed method is better than these fusion methods in terms of the focus and quality.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
