Abstract. This paper is testing a DUAL-based model of memory. The model assumes decentralized representation of episodes as a coalition of agents and analogical transfer processes as the basis for memory reconstruction of our past. It is a model of active reconstruction thereby allowing memory insertions and blending of episodes. The experiment explores the role of the degree of internal connectivity of the coalition representing the episode on the outcome of the reconstruction process. It demonstrates that the more the links between the elements of the episode are, the higher the number of details we recall, and the lesser the intruded elements and the context influence.
Short food supply chains have the potential of improving local food production and provide the population with high quality fresh food. The sustainability of these chains has come under question last year (2020) due to the disruption caused by the pandemic and the lack of preparation for it. The goal of this study is to analyze the sustainability of short food supply chains in Bulgaria and identify the main sources for their disruptions. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks must be solved: to analyze the state of short food supply chains in Bulgaria; to evaluate the level of sustainability of these chains, and to discover and present the main sources for disruptions of short food supply chains in Bulgaria.
The aim of the present study is to examine the differences in palmar dermatoglyphic traits between healthy controls and schizophrenic patients, thus to investigate their possible diagnostic significance in relation to the disease. The study included 344 subjects of Bulgarian ethnicity, aged 18–64 years, 285 mentally healthy and 59 schizophrenic patients. The patients met DSMV criteria for schizophrenia. Palmar prints were obtained by the typographic method, in a rotating manner. Palmar dermatoglyphic traits are determined according to the rules of Cummins and Midlo [18]. The data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS software version 17.0. Our results showed that on the right hand the differences of palmar patterns between healthy and diseased males in interdigital area IV reached statistical significance (p < 0.05). On the left hand, the differences between healthy and diseased males in interdigital area IV reached high statistical significance (p < 0.001). There was a significant increase in the frequency of Line A ending in the fields 5I and 5II on both hands of diseased males, while in diseased females – in fields 3 and 4 only on the left hand. A higher frequency of accessorytriradii in diseased males was found on both hands compared to the healthy ones, as the frequency differences of accessory triradii for the left hand were significant (p < 0.01). The study confirms the presence of palmar dermatoglyphic dissociations in psychiatric patients, the differences with the healthy are in the palmar patterns, accessory triradii, and in the ending fields of the main Line A.
Abstract: Bulgarian agricultural sector underwent a transformation during the last decade of the 20th century, and its economic impact has lessened as a result. After the accession of the country to the European Union in 2007 Bulgarian agricultural product had uninterrupted access to the common market and most producers has oriented their production towards it. As a result Bulgarian food processing industry was put under great stress, due to its supply chain being greatly compromised. Aim: To investigate the sustainability of the functioning and development of the food processing industry in Bulgaria. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks are solved: - to analyze the state and development of Bulgaria food industry; - to examine the problems and prospects for its sustainable functioning. Design / Research methods: The methods used to solve the tasks are: analysis and synthesis, systematic and structural approach, statistical calculations. Conclusions / findings: The expectations of the study are that both positive and negative trends in the sustainable functioning of the food processing industry in Bulgaria will be identified. Originality / value of the article: The prospects for the sustainable development of the food processing industry are in direct correlation and dependence not just on the opportunities for development of foreign markets as a result of the liberalization and globalization of trade, but also on the preservation of its positions in our national market.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
