The priority direction of the state family and demographic policy is the social support of multiple-child families. This article clarifies the essence and specifies the concept of social support in accordance with regulatory documents. The distinctive features of support as a technology of social work are determined. The analysis of the regulatory framework at the federal and regional levels in the organization of social support for multiple-child families is carried out. The features of the practical implementation of the regulatory framework in a number of regions of Russia are formulated. The approved form of the passport of social support and intradepartmental interaction on social support is presented on the example of the Ulyanovsk Region. The algorithm of providing social support to multiple-child families in the conditions of a general education organization is described. The mechanism of implementation of the technology of social support in modern conditions of socio-economic crisis is substantiated.

The authors of the article actualised the importance and signifi cance of the formation of professional and personal competence of future specialists in social work in the process of professional training. The article describes the essence of professional and personal competence, defi nes the components of the professional and personal competence (operational, motivational and refl exive), and presents professionally important qualities for specialists in the fi eld of social work. The authors of the article defi ne a number of conditions necessary for the eff ective formation of the professional and personal competence of future specialists in social work.

The article highlights the problem of increasing the number of the elderly people and, as a consequence, the problem of ensuring vigorous activity and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The authors of the article determine the potential of recreational activities for solving the social and psychological problems of the elderly. The article discusses the main definitions of the concepts of «recreation», «recreational activity», the characteristics of the socio-psychological characteristics. The article presents the results of an empirical study, during which the emotional state of the elderly, their sociopsychological adaptation and readiness to accept age-related changes were diagnosed. In addition, the article describes the results of the implemented program for organizing recreational activities with the elderly.
