Mobile ad hoc networks are deployed in many new domestic and public applications, rising to new requirements in terms of performance and efficiency. However, some of its characteristics pose a significant challenge to the monitoring of ad hoc networks. In particular, designing and implementing a monitoring solution that is capable of providing up-to-date information regarding the network's overall health remains a challenge. Therefore in this paper we propose HMAN, Hierarchical Monitoring for Ad hoc Network.
