The nucleotide sequence coding for 726 amino acid residues of the alpha-chain of rabbit C3 was determined from a cDNA clone. Subfragments of the cDNA produced by restriction endonucleases were inserted into the bacteriophage M13 and sequenced using the dideoxynucleotide technique. The derived amino acid sequence was compared with those of human and mouse C3, which have been previously reported [by De Brujn, M.H.L. and Fey, G.H. (1985) Proc. Natl. Acad. sci. USA 82, 708, and Westel, R.A. et al. (1984) J. Biol. chem. 259, 13857, respectively]. There was 79% or 78% homology in amino acid sequence between rabbit and human or mouse C3, respectively. All of the cysteinyl residues were conserved among the three molecules, and the sequence around the thioester site was also highly conserved. Several regions having low homology were found: one of them was the small fragment released by factor I cleavage.
In these days, the polymer insulators have been increasingly studied and applied for outdoor insulators because it has superior characteristics than porcelain and glass insulators, which have been used for outdoor insulators. This investigation deals with the degradation characteristics of the outdoor insulation material, silicone rubber and EPDM which was one of the most useful polymer material as outdoor insulators, due to the salt fog and electrical stress.. Two salt fog chambers, which are based in ASTM D 2132, were fabricated for this test. And the treated specimen analyzed with various analytic method. AbstractsIn this paper, the distribution characteristics of salt contaminants with the distance from sea in South Korea were investigated to evaluate the suitability of KEPCO's design standard for contamination. To measure the equivalent salt deposit density (ESDD), conventional brush wiping method was used for about 150 sites, most of which were distributed near to coast. Because the measuring period is short, the measured value is much lower than that of the design standard. So, the data should take the statistical treatment, such as regression, time series, and so forth. But, with the consideration for the number and property of data, normalizing method was adapted in this study. From the result of statistical analysis, we could know the distribution characteristics of salt contaminants with the distance from the East and West Sea. In the past investigation, with the consulting for the research result of Japan, the accumulation property of contaminant has been ignored. But, through the analysis for the precipitation pattern and actual measurement, we could set the range of accumulation factor for salt pollution. And, from the analysis for accident, we could confirm the validity of the result of this investigation, the degree of contamination with the distance from sea.
