A combination of Ni-catalyst and PPh 3 promotes the three-component coupling reaction of vinyl epoxide, alkyne, and dimethylzinc under a carbon dioxide atmosphere to provide 2,5-heptadienyl alcohols with excellent E-stereo-selectivity. The stereochemistry of the products from the multi-component coupling reaction is controlled via an oxanickelacycle intermediate, which is formed by the insertion of carbon dioxide.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
