The present paper considers amplitude death in a pair of oscillators coupled by a time-varying delay connection. A linear stability analysis is used to derive the boundary curves for amplitude death in a connection parameters space. The delay time can be arbitrarily long for certain amplitude of delay variation and coupling strength. A simple systematic procedure for designing such variation and strength is provided. The theoretical results are verified by a numerical simulation.
The present paper deals with the dynamics of bus networks, which consist of several identical dc bus systems connected by resistors. It is analytically guaranteed that the stability of a stand-alone dc bus system is equivalent to that of the networks, independent of the number of bus systems and the network topology. In addition, we show that a decentralized delayed-feedback control can stabilize an unstable operating point embedded within the networks. Moreover, this stabilization does not depend on the number of bus systems or the network topology. A systematic procedure for designing the controller is presented. Finally, the validity of the analytical results is confirmed through numerical examples.
This paper proposes a delayed feedback control (DFC) based on the act-and-wait concept, which reduces the dynamics of DFC systems to that of discrete-time systems. Based on this concept, a delayed feedback controller is designed for a prototype two-dimensional oscillator using a simple systematic procedure. This control has two advantages: the feedback delay time can be large and it can obtain deadbeat behavior. A numerical example using a double-scroll circuit model demonstrates these theoretical results.
The present study shows that diffusive connections with two long-time delays can induce the stabilization of a steady state in network oscillators. A linear stability analysis shows that, if the two delay times retain a proportional relation with a certain bias, the stabilization can be achieved independent of the delay times. Furthermore, a simple systematic procedure for designing the coupling strength and the delay times in the connections is proposed. The procedure has the following two advantages: one can employ time delays as long as one wants and the stabilization can be achieved independently of its network topology. Our analytical results are applied to the well-known double-scroll circuit model on a small-world network.
Insulin resistance may be overestimated by using these markers if the patient has carbohydrate malabsorption, or that carbohydrate malabsorption may be present prior to the development of insulin resistance. Hence carbohydrate malabsorption should be taken into account for estimating insulin resistance and beta-cell function.
