The reactions of diethynyl silanes (I) and (VIII) with selenium di-or tetrahalides (chlorides and bromides), generated in situ, at room temperature proceed in a regio-and stereoselective manner to give two new classes of di-and tetrahalogenated 1,3-selenasilol derivatives. -(AMOSOVA*, S.
