The article considers both new functional characteristics of known word-forming formants and new derivational formants. In modern Russian speech, there has been discovered such a new phenomenon, as the mobility of borrowed elements which can be qualified as affixes (ап, аут, ин, овер). Well-known formants of Greek and Latin origin have proved to perform new pragmatic-stylistic functions: prefixoids нано-, кибер-, крипто-; suffix -оид. These formants are mostly characteristic of terms, but, as the study showed, they can participate in the creation of expressive derivatives. The article uses the material of neologisms in fiction and media texts to identify new formants: prefixes мега-, нон-, он-, оф-; suffixes -инг, -раст; suffixoids -гейт, -оголик; movable formants ап, аут, ин, овер. The appearance of new formants and new semantic and pragmatic characteristics of the known formants reflects the dynamics of the word-formation system of the Russian language, due to the processes of internationalization, "ameroglobalization" in different languages at the turn of the 20 th – 21 th centuries. Neo-derivatives testify to the specifics of knowledge and experience acquisition with the help of word-formation methods and means relevant for a certain period of time. The results of the study contribute to derivatology, neology, pragmalinguistics and can be useful for lecturers and students of higher educational institutions majoring in "Philology" and "Journalism".
The article analyzes polonisms used in the I.I. Lazhechnikov`s novel “Granddaughter of an armored boyar”, it considers changes in polonisms` lexical meaning and the ways they enter into the text: without interpretation, with incomplete (partial) explanation, with Russian equivalent in a narrow or wider context; the author uses both expanded inclusions from Polish language and single inclusions. Borrowings from Polish language serve as national marking of heroes and they are often used by writers in novels describing the complicated relations of our country and Poland in different time periods. Russian language in a lesser extent borrows polonisms, more often through Polish to Russian language come lexemes from the third European languages. In the novel polonisms perform character and evaluative functions: they describe the historical colouring, demonstrate the diversity of language game, allow to give an aesthetic and ideological assessment of characters and events, act as coded elements. Among the borrowings from Polish language there are both appellative and onomastic, precedent vocabulary.
Despite lots of works on I.S. Turgenev’s style the language of his prose is not enough studied. The article deals with used in his works expressive derivational means. This article purpose is to define types and functions of derivational units in the prose by I.S. Turgenev. It is defined authorial innovations, analyzed their derivational structure and the link with the narration structure. The main attention is paid to compound adjectives and adverbs that function as epithets. These words generally name colours and characterize the exterior and inner world of characters. The morphemic repeat (root and affixal) is considered as expressive derivational means peculiar to Turgenev’s individual style. It is defined its functions and the connection with the set of images of the text. It’s marked that the repeat of words with the component polu- is used very often. The author concludes that the expressive derivational means can be considered as one of the specification of Turgenev’s individual style.
