The purpose of the article is to present the problems of a typical rural school in a mountainous region in terms of the organization of the educational process, in particular distance learning of students in a coronary virus pandemic. The following research methods were used: analytic-synthetic, empirical and mathematical statistics. The specifics of the organization of schoolchildren’s education in the alpine conditions of a small rural school are substantiated. The results of an empirical study conducted among teachers of rural schools in the mountains of Ukraine are presented. The subject of the survey were questions about the attitude of teachers to distance learning in rural schools, the realities and difficulties of using information and communication technologies (ICT) in the educational process. It was found that among teachers of various levels of rural education (preschool, primary and secondary school) 49.12% have a positive attitude to distance learning, 18.42% – partially support. Given the difficulties and problems of using ICT, lack of teaching materials for online learning, low level of digital and media literacy, 23.68% of teachers – strongly against this form of organization of the educational process in remote rural (mountainous) regions. Prospects for the development of rural schools in mountainous areas in the context of digitalization of education are identified.
The research addresses the need to assess the degree of professional burnout of teachers of higher education institutions of Ukraine and to analyse connection between the level of teachers’ professional burnout and their organizational-professional (type of education, teaching experience) and socio-demographic (age, gender, marital status) characteristics. The article presents results of comparative analysis of major scientific approaches to the content of professional burnout: result of occupational stress; psychological defence mechanism; type of professional deformation of a personality; professional crisis and clinical disorder. The authors’ Questionnaire was employed as the main method of the study. The level of teachers’ professional burnout was explored via “Burnout Syndrome” in professions of the system “man-man” method by Maslach & Jackson. The study was conducted from 01 to 31 May 2020 and involved 302 faculty members of higher education institutions of Cherkasy region (central Ukraine). The findings signal that more than a third of the surveyed teachers experience a high level of expression of all components of professional burnout. The paper reports that the length of teaching experience has a positive effect on reducing most components of professional burnout; the level of emotional exhaustion decreases with age; women have a lower degree of emotional exhaustion than men. It is revealed that the actual socio-demographic characteristics of teachers (age, gender) have a greater impact on such a component of professional burnout as emotional exhaustion, while organizational and professional characteristics have a greater effect on such components of professional burnout as depersonalization and reduction of personal achievements.
This study narrates the implementation of remote assessment during the COVID-19 pandemic education in Ukrainian higher education institutions, based on exploring the reflections of 600 students and 150 educators. A wide range of student and faculty members experiences from Ukrainian higher education institutions were aggregated and analyzed. The data were collected through the Google Forms survey. The research focuses on the challenges of remote e-learning assessment during the COVID-19 crisis encountered by Ukrainian educators and learners and the approaches adopted to overcome them: learning designs, technological solutions, evaluation systems, and academic integrity measures. The current study also looks at the currently used platforms and applications that can assist in enhancing academic integrity and reinforcing education during pandemics and the various technological interventions to teaching, learning, and assessing that have been introduced or continued in higher education institutions around the world, and how they may have helped reduce the likelihood of students committing misconduct during the pandemic's emergency distance learning. The major outcome implies that addressing the issues of online assessment, cheating, and plagiarism on multiple levels is necessary, including boosting student knowledge and ethics; overcoming the resistance of the conservative part of the participants in the educational process to educational innovations due to the relatively low level of their mastery of modern educational technologies; training teachers to detect cheating methods; and applying severe sanctions on those who engage in such practices.
In the article the problem of teachers’ professional and pedagogical self-realization in establishments of postgraduate pedagogical education by means of information and communication technologies is highlighted. It is substantiated the actuality of creation and introduction the distance special course «The peculiarities of teacher’s professional and pedagogical self-realization in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education by means of information and communication technologies» in the educational process of postgraduate pedagogical education establishments. On the basis of analysis of research works, synthesis of educational ideas, generalization of own experience of pedagogical work the oriented plan of the special course is presented. The authors describe the information filling of the thematic modules of the distance special course. It is pointed out that the efficiency of introduction and usage of the distance special course in educational practice of postgraduate pedagogical education establishments depends on the level of teacher’s pedagogical education, as well as their information and communication competency. The attention is stressed on the combination of theoretical, practical tasks, and also tasks that have creative character. It is noted that distance special course contains not only theoretical and practical contents, but questions for self-study and comprehension, tasks for self-examination and self-control. Learning the distance special course the great attention is paid to teachers’ individual independent work. It is substantiated an idea that the efficiency of introduction of the distance special course will depend on teachers’ initial knowledge on computer literacy, access to the Internet and necessary hardware. The article is interdisciplinary, so it has been written on crossing the problems in different spheres: pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, informatics.
The aim of the article: The aim of this article was to identify the humanitarian features of the use of media technologies in education. To achieve this goal, a analytical research was conducted onthe topic of media in education. Research methods and techniques: The historical and comparative-legal method was used to solve the issue. Using a comparative legal method, a comparative analysis of the level of using media in education was carried out. Results: As a result, conclusions were made about the sharp increase in the level of use of media in various types in the process of civic education.Conclusions: It was concluded that media have both positive and negative effects on consciousness of information. Active use of media technologies helps to recreate the learning process at a distance, involves the use of a variety of interactive activities. And, the constant use has a burden than the usual format of education. Therefore, the problem of teaching methodology of using media in education becomes relevant. As a result, it was determined that the topic of effective use of media technologies in the educational process is becoming increasingly important.
