Structure D 2000Crystal Structure of the Compounds LnAl 0.5-x Si 0.5+x (Ln: La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd), Ln 3 Al 4 Si 6 (Ln: La, Pr), and LnAlSi 2 (Ln: Pr, Nd). -The structures of nine ternary Ln-Al-Si compounds are determined by powder XRD. The compounds LnAl0.5Si0.5 with Ln: La, Ce, Nd, Sm, and Gd crystallize with the CrB type structure (space group Cmcm), La3Al4Si6 and Pr3Al4Si6 have the Ce3Al4Si6 type structure (P3m1), and compounds PrAlSi 2 and NdAlSi 2 are found to be isotypic with CeAlSi 2 (P3m1). The structure of PrAl 0.5 Si 0.5 (CrB type) is refined from powder XRD data and its homogeneity range is determined to be LnAl0.5-0.36Si0.5-0.64. -(LYASKOVSKA, N.; ROMANIV, O.; SEMUS'O, N.; GLADYSHEVSKII*, E.; J.
