Metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma to the parotid gland is an aggressive neoplasm that requires combination therapy. The presence of a lesion in excess of 6 cm or with facial nerve involvement is associated with a poor prognosis.

WDTC is associated with a significant recurrence rate but good disease-specific survival. The most important prognostic factors are family history of WDTC, extent of surgical treatment (i.e., total thyroidectomy), and advanced initial stage of disease, with a trend for age 60 years and older.

We cannot recommend the use of dexamethasone on a routine basis following tonsillectomy in adults for the reduction of pain or narcotics consumption.
