331ChemInform Abstract The enzymatic hydrolysis of the malonic acid diesters (I) produces the monoesters (II) when pig liver esterase is used as the bio-agent. The monoalkylmalonic acid ester (IIa) shows no significant enantioselectivity, whereas the dialkylmalonates (IIb) and (IIc) are formed with a high enantiomeric excess. Similar results are obtained with the bio-agent horse liver acetonic powder. Pig pancreatic lipase and α-chymotrypsine show no enzymatic activity with the substrates (I).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
