Debt financing has grown rapidly in recent year. Debt financing is one of the common ways for company to increase their capital to run their business. This study focuses on the debt financing towards firm profitability of manufacturing companies listed in Bursa Malaysia. By applying trade-off theory and pecking order theory, this study predicts there are significant relationship on debt financing towards firm profitability. This research would further collect debt financing data of listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia and analyse the relationship by descriptive analysis and regression analysis. This study used 23 companies to determine the debt financing towards firm profitability of the listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia. The data was taken for the period of 8 years which were from 2010 to 2018. The independent variables were debt ratio, long term debt and short-term debt while the dependent variable was the return on equity and used to measure the firm's performance. The findings will be useful for policymaker and listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia to make better debt financing decisions. Findings of this research will also aid in maintaining an optimum capital structure and maximize the stockholder's wealth of the listed manufacturing companies in Malaysia.
The growth of online shopping is impressive. The presence of social media platforms accelerates the way companies connect directly with consumers. In other words, consumers use internet as shopping channel instead of physically walk into the traditional brick-and-mortar retail stores. Nowadays, majority of the young people are associated with technologies and digital media. Online shopping has become a significant part of their lifestyle. The objective of this study concerns to understand the demography and perceptions towards online shopping orientation of young Malaysian in Kelantan. Therefore, a sample of 101 young shoppers in Kota Bharu, Kelantan were asked for input and descriptive analysis was done to examine factors shaping their online shopping preference. Based on the result, the study highlighted three significant findings. Perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and past online shopping experience are the key factors which influence online shopping orientation for young shoppers. Consequently, the finding is important for business developers to form their e-marketing strategies in creating a highly convenient e-store platform to fit the changing needs of young shoppers' lifestyles towards online shopping experience especially in Kelantan.
Corporate Governance has become the most inevitable issues around the world as the emergence of prominent corporate scandals, for example, Enron and WorldCom. It was also known as an important key of leading good financing decision in a company. The motivation behind this project sought to investigate the influences of the Corporate Governance practices on capital structure decision among Top 100 companies for overall Corporate Governance and performance in Malaysian Capital Market over the period 2012 to 2016. All data was gathered from annual report of Malaysian listed firms in Bursa Malaysia Stock Exchange, excluding the financial companies due to their special rules and regulation in their Corporate Governance system. This study has been employed descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and fixed effects regression model to find out the research objectives. Results from the research indicate that board gender, independence audit committee, and profitability were statistically negative to leverage. Further, the research also found that large firm size with high managerial ownership will pursue high debt policy. Nonetheless, debt-to-equity ratio has no zero relationship with board size and board independence. These findings will be useful to the policymaker to formulate Corporate Governance mechanisms as well as investors for assessing the listed companies in Malaysia before making investment decision.
