This article is intended to provide a new method for modeling of nonlinear crosstalk in optical communication system. It is necessary for the optical link designer to understand the transmission impairment due to fiber nonlinearity for efficient link design. In the present paper a new mathematical model is derived for SRS and XPM crosstalk, which has less variable and compact form. The expression for crosstalk derived in the present work shall be useful to find the total crosstalk and in predicting its countermeasure techniques in optical link design.
Keywords-Non-linear crosstalk, Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS), , Self Phase Modulation (SPM), Cross Phase Modulation (XPM) and Four Wave Mixing(FWM).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
