The study performs an analysis of the scientific literature that has focused on theoretical and practical trends on metaverses and virtual worlds in the last 5 years. For this, 50 articles from different databases were collected, Ebsco (31) , ProQuest (15), Scopus (2), Scielo (1), and ResearchGate (1), from 2017 to 2022. The objective of the study is to determine that the metaverse and virtual worlds are one of the most important technological changes in recent years. However, it is many years away from its full implementation in the transfer of information and the interaction of people. The argument raises an issue where the Metaverse and virtual worlds have become an alternative for knowledge transfer and communication for different sectors. Likewise, it is concluded that the research is established during successive phases of evaluation, and attracts resources such as computer applications, courses and activities to facilitate communication and interaction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
