The present study examines several personal attributes that distinguish the personal profiles of individuals, from Indonesian and Swedish cultures, according to self-reports of positive and negative effect, stress and energy, self-esteem, hospital anxiety and depression, dispositional optimism and health. Indonesian participants expressed both more PA and more NA than Swedish participants but less stress and a higher energy-stress quotient than the Swedish participants. Additionally, the former expressed a higher level of optimism and self-esteem, but also more depression, and less impulsiveness than the latter. Younger participants expressed less positive affect and more negative affect and impulsiveness than older participants who expressed both more stress and a higher energy stress quotient. Regression analyses indicated that PA was predicted by optimism and health whereas NA was predicted by anxiety and depression and impulsiveness and counter predicted by health. The present findings are discussed according to the notion of emotional regulation according to which individuals differ in their use of emotion regulation strategies such as reappraisal and suppression, and these individual differences have implications for affect, well-being, and social relationships.
This research departs from the results of previous studies in the field ofcyberspace, which shows differences in one's behavior when in the world of the internetand in the real world. The Internet has now become the most widely used communicationtool. The purpose of this study is to see what psychological factors that affect a personwhen behaving in the internet world. Subjects in this study were 389 users of Instagramusers who filled out the research questionnaire online. Measuring tool in this research is aself-esteem scale, body image scale, and self-presentation online scale. While the analysismethod used is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The results showed that there is apositive relationship between self-esteem and body image with online self-presentation.Self-esteem and body image can predict self-presentation online with a significance levelof p <0.05. Effective contribution of self esteem and body image variable to self-presentation online variable is 3.8%.
Indonesia needs mental health service methods that are able to reach a wider community with challenging geographical conditions and a large population. The need is even more urgent with the current situation of physical restrictions in the current pandemic. The increasing number of mental health cases and the limited availability of professional resources that are insufficient to meet the needs, causing mental health disparities. The increasing need for psychological assistance in particular situations is now a challenge for service providers. This paper aims to obtain a scientific basis from several evidencebased studies that show the effectiveness of services using telemental health (TMH) or better known as telepsychology in several community groups and countries. This article is a literature review from various sources through the Google scholar search engine, Google, and PubMed with the keywords telemental health, telepsychology, and telecounseling. The rapid development of information technology in the digital age has become a promising opportunity. With the optimal integration of mental health services and technology, the results obtained can be one of the alternative solutions in reaching the wider community and minimizing existing gaps. The use of two-way long-distance telecommunications media, utilizing telephone and video conferencing with due regard to procedures and professional ethics telepsychology implementation in Indonesia needs to consider several things, including procedures and professional service ethics; infrastructure availability; community readiness and culture; and also, the ability of psychologists as providers of this service. Abstrak Indonesia membutuhkan metode layanan kesehatan mental yang mampu menjangkau masyarakat luas dengan kondisi geografis yang menantang dan populasi penduduk yang besar. Kebutuhan tersebut menjadi semakin mendesak dengan adanya situasi pembatasan fisik di masa pandemi yang dihadapi saat ini. Meningkatnya jumlah kasus kesehatan mental dan keterbatasan ketersediaan sumber daya profesional yang ada tidak cukup memenuhi kebutuhan pelayanan, sehingga menimbulkan kesenjangan kesehatan mental. Meningkatnya kebutuhan pendampingan psikologis pada situasi khusus saat ini menjadi tantangan bagi penyedia layanan. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh dasar ilmiah dari beberapa studi berbasis bukti yang menunjukkan efektivitas layanan menggunakan telemental health (TMH) atau lebih dikenal telepsikologi di beberapa kelompok masyarakat dan negara. Artikel ini merupakan reviu literatur dari berbagai sumber, melalui mesin pencari Google Scholar, Google, dan Pubmed dengan kata kunci telemental health, telepsychology, dan telecounseling. Perkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat di era digital ini menjadi peluang yang menjanjikan. Hasil yang didapatkan, dengan adanya integrasi pelayanan kesehatan mental dan teknologi secara optimal, dapat menjadi salah satu solusi alternatif dalam menjangkau masyarakat yang lebih luas dan meminimalisir kesenjangan yang ada. Penggunaan media telekomunikasi jarak jauh dua arah, memanfaatkan telepon, dan konferensi video dengan memperhatikan prosedur serta etika professional. Implementasi telepsikologi di Indonesia perlu mempertimbangkan beberapa hal, meliputi prosedur dan etika layanan professional; ketersediaan infrastruktur; kesiapan dan budaya masyarakat; serta juga kemampuan psikolog sebagai penyedia layanan ini.
Abstract. The variety and frequency of behaviors including the category of cyber-bullying have been increasing lately. Every Internet user can easily publish their emotions and thoughts in the Internet, including their negative emotions intended to harm other people. This research tested the effects of moral emotions in the relationship of empathy and cyber-bullying behaviors. The moral emotions tested were shame, guilt, authentic pride, and hubristic pride while the empathy contained cognition and affection. The data analyzed in this study were collected from 382 subjects consisting of 174 high school students and 208 university students. Among them there were 103 female students and the rest were male ones. All the partisipants answered the questions asked in the Moral Emotion Scale, Empathy Scale and Cyber-Bullying Scale. Based on the results of a regression analysis, this study revealed that it was the cognitive dimension only that contributed to cyber-bullying. In addition, although all moral emotions contributed significantly to cyberbullying, guilt was the only dimension that strengthened the rople of empathy in cyber-bullying. Ragam dan frekuensi tindakan yang masuk dalam kategori perundungan-siber semakin meningkat akhir-akhir ini. Setiap pengguna internet dapat dengan mudah mempublikasikan emosi dan pikirannya di internet, termasuk di dalamnya emosi negatif yang ditujukan untuk menyakiti orang lain. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh emosi moral di dalam hubungan empati dengan perilaku perundungan-siber. Emosi moral yang diuji adalah malu, bersalah, kebanggaan hubristic dan kebanggaan autentik sedangkan empati meliputi kognitif dan afektif. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini berasal dari 382 orang, 174 siswa SLTA dan 208 mahasiswa, 103 perempuan sedangkan sisanya laki-laki. Semua partisipan menjawab pertanyaan Skala Emosi Moral, Skala Empati, dan Skala Perundungan-siber. Setelah dilakukan analisis regresi diperoleh hasil bahwa hanya dimensi empati kognitif yang berperan terhadap perundungan-siber. Penelitian ini juga memperlihatkan bahwa walaupun semua dimensi emosi moral memberikan sumbangan signifikan terhadap perundungan-siber namun hanya dimensi rasa berdosa saja yang memperkuat peran empati terhadap perundungan-siber.
