A novel approach to tiling is described in which an array of specially designed moulded light guides is used to form a magnified image of a standard AMLCD panel. These arrays can be tessellated to form visually uniform display surfaces of essentially unlimited size.
In this paper, we describe recent advances in the production and performance of a seamless tiled display technology. A new automated method to produce arrays of optical light guides has been implemented in the development of a 68‐inch 16‐tile SVGA (800×600) display.
Abstract— In this paper, the optical and system characteristics of large‐area displays based upon ITrans tiling technology is described. The characteristics of these displays are compared to those of other large area display technologies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
