The feasibility of geologic CO2 storage in deeply buried arkosic sandstones has been tested using high-temperature, highpressure, short-term physical experiments and long-term numerical simulations with CO2-saturated solutions rich in CaCl2. These conditions mimic the conditions found currently in the Eocene reservoir sandstones of depleted oilfields in the Dongying Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, China. Experiments at 100 C and 150 C
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
