The paper analyses the degree of damage to the territory of the Cogâlnic river basin by landslides and linear erosion, characteristics expressed by numerical indices as the ratio of the areas affected by these processes to the total surface of the reference territorial unit. For this, cartographic models of the dynamics of degraded land areas were developed for the years 2004 and 2020. The main territorial units that need to be protected to mitigate linear erosion are highlighted.
With a total area of approximately 14,770 km2, which makes up 43.6% of the country's surface, DPBS DRB is characterized by modest water resources. Total surface water resources make up about 3.39 km3 / year (25.32% of the Republic of Moldova's water resources). In the multiannual leakage of both Prut and internal rivers from Prut - Nistru, several cycles with different leakage rates are recorded, a phenomenon probably influenced by the cyclicality of solar activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
