One of the simple definitions of economic growth is the productive capacity of an economy to the production of goods and services over a given period of time. The gross domestic product (GDP), the size of the economy, and per capita income are some of the indicators of economic growth. Although globalization has varied definitions following its economic, social, political, cultural, and technological perspectives, it is mostly defined in terms of trade and capital inflow (foreign direct investment) (Anyanwu 2006; Eatwell 1996; Bhalla et al. 1999).
