For the development of various formulations, it is necessary to check out the drug excipient incompatibility. Whether the drug is compatible with the excipient or not. Because the drug excipient interaction study provides stability data of the drug and shelf life of the drug. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy is the best method to evaluate the drug excipient incompatibility study. The FTIR spectroscopy theory is based on the idea that molecules have a tendency to absorb particular light frequencies that are unique to the corresponding structure of the molecules. The energies depend on the atomic masses, the related vibronic coupling, and the geometry of the molecular surfaces. For instance, the molecule may be able to absorb the energy present in the incident light, which will cause it to rotate more quickly or vibrate more loudly. In this article, a list of various drugs with different excipients was discussed. This review emphasizes on various examples of drug interaction with a number of excipients on the basis of Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy data which is based on last 10-12 year research paper, and the principle ,working, applications of infrared spectroscopy were also discussed.
Background: Marijuana, also known as cannabis, is the second most widely used illegal psychoactive substance smoked worldwide after tobacco, mainly due to the psychoactive effects induced by D-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (9-THC). Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from cannabis and may be used as an anti-inflammatory agent. Some patents on cannabidiol are discussed in this review. The cannabinoid is a non-psychoactive isomer of the more infamous tetrahydrocannabinol (THC); and is available in several administration modes, most known as CBD oil. Objectives: This study aims to provide an enhanced review of cannabidiol properties used in treating inflammation. This review also emphasises the current safety profile of cannabidiol. Method: Cannabis is also called Marijuana. It is the second most commonly used illegal psychoactive substance in the universe after tobacco. D-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (9-THC) present in cannabis produces psychoactive effects. Cannabidiol (CBD) extracted from cannabis is used for anti-inflammatory purposes. Cannabis smoking causes various types of cancer, such as lung, tongue, and jaw. The current review took literature from Google Scholar, PubMed, and Google Patents. Many clinical investigations are included in this review. Result: After analysing the literature on cannabis, it has been suggested that although cannabis is banned in some countries, it may be included in the treatment and mitigation of some diseases and symptoms like pain management, epilepsy, cancer, and anxiety disorder. Mild side effects were frequently observed in cannabis medications, which included infertility in females, liver damage, etc. Conclusion: Cannabis contains chemical compounds such as the cannabinoids delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive substance, and non-psychoactive cannabidiol (CBD). Cannabidiol has been confirmed as an efficient treatment of epilepsy in several clinical trials, with one pure CBD product named Epidiolex. It is also used in treating anxiety and acne, as a pain reliever, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Introduction: Microspheres, the novel drug delivery system that offers therapeutic alternatives to single-unit dosage forms, both conventional and quick release. Microspheres are solid microspheres having a diameter of 1–1000 µm. Microspheres can be made utilising various procedures that vary in their effectiveness and dosage form administration when compared to standard dosage forms. Background: The idea of targeted drug delivery is to concentrate the treatment in the target tissues while lowering the relative concentration of the drug in the non-target tissues. As a result, the medication is concentrated at the desired location. Thus, the medication has no effect on the tissues nearby. Therefore, by combining the drug with carrier particle like microspheres, nanoparticles, liposomes, niosomes, etc., that regulates the release and absorption characteristics of the drug, carrier technology offers an intelligent way for drug delivery. Results: Microspheres are naturally biodegradable materials made of proteins or synthetic polymers that flow freely. Its formulation is approachable, maintaining the desired concentration at the site of interest without unfavorable effects and reliably delivering the drug to the target site with specificity. Conclusion: Microspheres attracted a lot of interest for their sustained release as well as their ability to direct anti-cancer medications to the tumour using biodegradable polymers. Due to this, future drug delivery systems for innovative medications will heavily rely on microspheres.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder in females with excessive hormonal levels, but a reasonable cause is unknown. For PCOS, various pharmaceutical therapies have been offered, like oral contraceptive pills (which balance hormonal imbalances). PCOS is commonly used as an alternative to PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disease). Although a part of the implicated mechanism in the occurrence of PCOS has been discovered, the specific etiology and pathophysiology are still unknown. Many types of complementary medicines are used to treat PCOD, and herbal medicines are one of them. Medical herbs have long been utilized to manage PCOS in women's gynecological and reproductive issues. This review article discusses the importance of herbal medicines and lifestyle modifications for PCOD patients. Many clinical studies proved that herbs like liquorice, cinnamon, Unkei-to, and fenugreek are helpful in PCOD management by improving hormone levels, ovulatory dysfunctions, obesity, and insulin resistance in the body. This review explores the natural plants that can be used to treat the disease naturally. The herbs can be used either alone or in combination.
