Fournier's gangrene is a form of necrotizing fasciitis of the perineal region that frequently affects immunocompromised patients. In most cases the point of entry of the infecting microorganisms goes undetected. A case of necrotizing fasciitis was diagnosed in a 77-year-old male with diabetes mellitus following an injection of botulinum toxin in the anal sphincter to treat an anal fissure.
The autoimmune hepatitis-primary biliary cirrhosis overlap syndrome is an entity characterized by clinical, analytical, immunological and histological manifestations of both entities. We present the case of a 26-year-old woman with a serious acute hepatitis that fulfills the diagnostic criteria of the overlap syndrome and that showed a satisfactory response to oral corticoid therapy.

En los últimos años se ha producido un incremento de los casos de peritonitis bacteriana espontánea (PBE) ocasionados por este microorganismo, recomendán-dose tenerlo presente en aquellos casos con mala evolución con el tratamiento empírico convencional, ya que la L monocytogenes es resistente a las cefalosporinas de tercera generación 2-4 . En la actualidad se han descrito 23 casos de infección del líquido pleural por Listeria monocytogenes, en los que sólo en tres se aisló también en el líquido ascítico [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] .Presentamos un caso de infección del líquido pleural y ascítico por Listeria monocytogenes y realizamos una revisión de la literatura prestando especial atención a su epidemiología, patogenia, tratamiento y pronóstico.
