The data for the immunization of the population of Sochi resort and the staff during preparation for the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi are presented. The characteristics of the organization of the different vaccination groups of operating personnel and the public during major events are analyzed. The conclusion about the effectiveness of the work done to reduce the incidence of immunocorrelated infections in the region of Sochi.
The population of the Far Eastern region is under stress due to daily exposure to harmful and carcinogenic substances in the air, with average annual levels exceeding health standards. The purpose of this study is to assess the medical and environmental situation in the Far Eastern region and to identify relationships between environmental factors and the incidence in the population. For four years, studies have been conducted to assess the impact of environmental pollution on public health using basic demographic and morbidity indicators for the emissions of harmful substances, according to the data from State reports “On the sanitary-epidemiological situation in the Russian Federation” and statistical data from the Federal Statistics Service of the Russian Federation. In the course of this research, it was found that the increase in the incidence of malignant neoplasms was promoted by an increase in the amount of air-polluting emissions and an increase in the proportion of people employed in heavy work under conditions that do not meet health requirements. Using the regression equation, the impact of the amount of wastewater discharges and the amount of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere demonstrated an increase in respiratory diseases. As a preventive measure against negative environmental factors, the mandatory use of local adaptogens in everyday food products has been proposed.
Assessment of influence of annual seasonal vaccination on flu incidences of the Russian Federation population is carried out. The strong inverse correlation between the preventive flu vaccination coverage and the incidence of this infection is established. It is shown that the season vaccination in 2013 - 2014 result that about 40% of the samples of blood serum collected in 25 regions of Russia were positive to the vaccine influenza strains. It is necessary to vaccinate annually not less than 50% of total population, with not less than 90% immunization coverage of risk groups for ensuring necessary level of population immunity to stop a flu epidemic and to promote decrease in incidence of this infection in the Russian Federation
Environmental monitoring is a long-term assessment of pollutant levels that helps assess pollution levels and provide information on trends in environmental quality. In addition, the environmental monitoring system supports research by providing scientists with the information they need to conduct long-term studies of the effects of various atmospheric exposures on the population and an overall assessment of the health effects of air pollution. The dynamics and structure of pollutant emissions has changed significantly in recent years. It was revealed that the gross volume of emissions into the atmosphere in 2021 decreased by 0.3% compared to the level of 2015 and amounted to 1592 thousand tons. Emissions from stationary sources in 2021 amounted to 1275.2 thousand tons, increased by 43.7% compared to 2015. The structure of emissions was dominated by CO, the emissions of which amounted to 413 thousand tons (increased by 31.8% since 2015). During the year, there was an increase in emissions of solid substances (by 44%), sulfur dioxide (by 55%), nitrogen oxides (by 56.6%), VOCs (by 77.2%).
