On the other hand, when consciousness is disturbed, the contents of fatty acids in CSF increased over the normal limits, especially fatty acids having shorter chain than C16 increased. The change of fatty acids in CSF of brain tumor was like these of traumatic brain edema. From above results, we considered the metabolism of fatty acids in brain tumor differed from these of normal brain, moreover, this metabolism was similar each other among the various tumors and changes with relation to level of consciousness of case.
