Outbreaks are events that directly affect the individual and society, and where health services are at the center. The infectious diseases that humanity has faced since its creation have caused serious effects on the vital flows of individuals and societies. We are experiencing the COVID-19 epidemic and its effects, which started as of the end of 2019 and negatively affected life all over the world. Measures are taken by means of protection and control methods for the epidemic on the basis of the protective memory and scientific evidence created by the epidemic diseases seen throughout the ages. However as a result of the multidimensional effects of the epidemic, it becomes necessary for the health sector to cooperate both within its own structure and with other sectors. Home care activity plans to be implemented should have dynamic characteristics covering the general population. The role and importance of implementing home care with qualified strategies, which has been up-to-date from the beginning and shaped according to needs, has become more evident during the pandemic period.

Sigara bağımlılığı tüm dünyada ve ülkemizde halen yaygın bir sağlık sorunudur. Son zamanlarda dünyada ve ülkemizde sigara bağımlılığı ile ilgili yürütülen eylem planları farkındalık yaratmış ve sigara bırakma poliklinikleri açılmıştır. Bu poliklinikler toplum tarafından büyük ilgi görmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı sigara bırakma polikliniklerine başvuran hastaların sosyodemografik özelliklerini belirlemektir. Hedef kitlenin özelliklerinin bilinmesi sigarayla mücadelede gerçekleştirilecek eylem planlarında işe yarayabilir.
