This study aims to determine the contribution of teacher work motivation to teacher professionalism, the principal's contribution to teacher professionalism, and the contribution of work motivation and the role of school principals to teacher professionalism. The population of the study was all civil servant teachers in SMA Negeri Salatiga with number of population 209 people and the sample are 131 people. The samples were chosen by using proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaire and hypothesis testing with regression. The results showed, (1) there was a positive and significant contribution t of work motivation on teacher professionalism of 92.2%, (2)there was a positive and significant contribution of the role of the principal on the teacher professionalism of 90.2%, and (3) there was a positive and significant contribution of work motivation and the role of the principal on professionalism teachers at 93.1%. It is hoped that further research will find out other factors that contribute ot teacher professionalism.
The purpose of this study to find out (1) the steps of continuous professional development (CPD) of teachers, (2) the methods and techniques of CPD, (3) the models of CPD, (4) thefinancing of CPD, and (5) the constraints of CPD. The research approach is qualitative while the type is phenomenological. The study was conducted in Demak Regency in 2019. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The research step follows the Miles and Huberman model. Analysis of data using qualitative research software NVivo 11 Plus. The results showed (1) the steps of CPD consist of need assessment, implementation, and evaluation, (2) the most widely used methods were education and training, lectures, simulations, discussions, and behavior modeling, (3) the models most widely used professional learning groups, (4) the biggest funding source from the personal of teachers and local government, and (5) the main constraints are in terms of time, funding, lack of programmability, and lack of assistance. The intensive CPD implementation has succeeded in improving the quality of education in Demak District. In order for CPD to improve more quality of education, it is suggested that several things (1) CPD steps need to be improved starting from the measurement of teacher needs to evaluation, (2) the methods, techniques, and models that are still rarely used should be tried to apply, (3) it needs to explore funding from the public, (4) minimize the main obstacles that arised, and (5) the need of operational policy from District Education Office of Demak.
<p><em>The main problem in this article is how effective of continuity professional development (CPD) implementation for teachers. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach in Demak District Central Java Province. Demak Regency is a district that implemented the CPD seriously so that containing Regents Regulation, RPJMD, and Strategic Planning of Education Office. Data collection using interviews and documentation. Research result showed that CPD implementation have been running effectively. Three indicators found: regulations governing CPD implementation, details of the CPD programs and activities, and controlling of CPD regulation with programs and activities. The CPD implementation in Demak District can be implemented in forms: structured training activities, workshops, seminars, others scientific meeting; mentoring for teacher and headmaster conducted by facilitators; activities at professional learning community; and induction program or internship of beginner to advance. In order to make implementation of CPD more effectively so needs regulatory refinements.</em></p>
