This reserach was conducted to improve conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability of fourth-semester students of the Science education study program, Bengkulu University by applying PBL. The research method used in this study is quasi experimental, which in its implementation uses single class or one group pretest-posttest design. The test question was the instrument used in this study. The findings showed that there was an improvement in students‘ conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability of students‘ since implementing problem-based learning models in environmental chemistry courses. This improvement can be seen from the results of the gain test for each class group on the test of conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability which are in the "medium" category, while the t-test results for concept understanding and critical thinking ability show a significant difference (0.000 <0.05). ), In other words, the implementation of the PBL learning influences the students‘ conceptual understanding and critical thinking ability. Further the implementation of the problem-based learning model in teaching and learning process presents problems with real conditions so that it can stimulate students to not only think and understand at the rote level but also interpret the problem. Quiet in-depth research on the implementation of problem-based learning models in learning is highly recommended to get more comprehensive results.
The use of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in academic institutions is becoming an imperative for many institutions. The growth of the advanced education system now is depending on the increased of Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) technology utilization. Education institution communities are encouraged to adopt a variety of VLE technology to support the process of teaching and learning. The objective of this research is to measure perspective of VLE acceptance among lecturers in the context of Moodle application by using data from 541 lecturers at selected Higher Education Institutions. A framework of research constructed based on a comprehensive study on the theory of service quality and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Eight factors hypothesized which consist of five independent variables; organization support, knowledge support, technical assistance, system characteristics and lecturer style and innovation, two belief variables; perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use and one dependent variable; behavioral intention to use the VLE. All the factors were tested to determine whether they are important in influencing future use of the VLE and statistical analysis methods determined the key driving factors. Results of regression analysis showed that university lecturers have an above average level of VLE acceptance with the very high level of significant value.
E-modules are teaching materials that are considered innovative for learning. as an innovative teaching material, the e-module should be developed by the teacher himself to suit the character of the students and the learning methods to be used. the objectives of this study are four, namely: to find out how the level of needs analysis for the e-module science media as a medium for learning science material on the structure and function of plant tissue for class viii smp/mts, to find out how the prototype of the development of the e-module ipa as a medium for learning science material structure and the function of plant tissue for class viii smp/mts, to find out how the results of expert validation of the e-module science media as a science learning media material on the structure and function of plant tissue for class viii smp/mts, to find out how students respond to the e-module ipa as a medium learning science on the structure and function of plant tissue for class viii smp/mts, to find out how the e-module of science is suitable as a medium for learning science on the structure and function of plant tissue for class viii smp this research was conducted in a junior high school 6 bengkulu city in april 2021. the method used in this study was the research & development (r&d) method of development. validation carried out by material experts, linguists and media/design experts as well as validation by a science teacher showed that the product developed was very feasible to use. the results of this study indicate that the e-module is suitable for use in teaching and learning activities in schools.
Introduction/Main Objectives: This study aims to reveal the competence of prospective science teachers in reflecting on science teaching and learning activities at SMP/MTs. Background Problems: The ability to reflect on the behaviour of students will provide an overview of the ability of prospective teachers to prepare a series of activities, methods or learning models that assist students in getting a pleasant learning experience. Novelty: Observations and reflections use observation and reflection sheets which include the following components: (1) Activities carried out by students in gaining knowledge; (2) the efforts of students to understand the learning material; (3) the activities of students in communicating the results of their thoughts; and (4) reflective thinking skills of students. Research Methods: This research is a type of survey research. The subjects of this study were 21 prospective science teachers who took part in internship 2 at the Tadris IPA study program at IAIN Bengkulu. The design of activities is carried out by providing opportunities for prospective teachers to observe and reflect on learning activities. Which was implemented in several schools in Bengkulu City. Finding/Results: The results of this reflection are given a quality score and categorized under conditions of (1) Very Good; (2) Good; (3) Fairly Good; and (4) Not Good. The results showed that the competence of prospective science teachers in reflecting on students' learning activities in science subjects was in the very good category. Conclusion: The ability of prospective science teachers who are very good at reflecting on students' learning activities has implications for the ability to prepare good learning activities for students so that later they can provide a fun learning for students.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
