The development of technologies for the use of renewable energy sources, especially wind energy, has so far reached a level that allows them to compete with standard energy sources even without the help of economic incentives, such as "green" tariff. Today there are many programs for assessing the effectiveness of wind turbines for a particular area. In this paper analyzes the wind flow by modeling the proposed location of the wind turbine. The object of study was a hilly area with a maximum height of about 720 meters. Using the WindSim software environment, a scale is drawn and such important parameters as wind rose, wind profile, turbulence are analyzed. This study gives the possibility of possible problems associated with the climatic conditions of the selected area. The program uses a simplified model estimate of the wind flow, which allows wind statistics to local conditions of the possible location of wind energy capacities. To solve this problem, it is assumed that that air is an incompressible medium, air the flow is turbulent, and the effect of the Coriolis forces is negligible compared to the force’s friction of air on the underlying surface. in this work, a neutral stratification of the atmosphere over the area under consideration is assumed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
