Objective. To assess the effectiveness of chronic cervicitis treatment with the combined antimicrobial medication Vagiferon, vaginal suppositories. Patients and methods. This paper presents the study results of the topical therapy effectiveness in 76 patients of reproductive age (28 ± 3 years) with chronic cervicitis. The medication Vagiferon was administered vaginally, one suppository once daily for 10 days. The criteria for the treatment effectiveness were the disappearance of clinical disease manifestations and normalization of laboratory parameters. Results. The clinical and laboratory therapy effectiveness was 86.8%. Eradication of Gardnerella vaginalis and E. Coli was observed, the number of white blood cells in the smear was on average 13 in the field of view. Ineffectiveness or insufficient effectiveness of the therapy was recorded in 13.2%. No serious side effects were registered in the assessment of the medication safety and tolerability. Conclusion. High effectiveness of the combined antimicrobial medication Vagiferon in the treatment of chronic cervicitis was shown, which allows us to prevent recurrence of the inflammatory process and reduce the risk of epithelial dysplasia in patients with chronic cervicitis.
