She has about 25 years of experience in applied research on natural resource management covering soil management, resource recovery and reuse for agriculture, and smallholder agricultural water management. She oversees the development and implementation of IWMI's research for development program in West and Central Africa. Douglas J. Merrey is an independent consultant on natural resource management. He has over 40 years of experience in applied research, consulting, institutional analysis, gender, program evaluation and other natural resource management services, especially water management. He worked for IWMI for over 20 years and was the Founding Director of IWMI's Africa program.
